Dussehra Celebrations

Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, celebrated Dussehra on October 11, 2024, with enthusiasm and excitement, marking the victory of good over evil. The highlight of the event was a mesmerizing play by the talented students of Class 3, who depicted Lord Rama’s triumph over Ravana, captivating the audience. The celebration concluded with the dramatic burning of Ravana’s effigy, symbolizing the festival’s essence. The effigy was ignited by the guest of honour,our chairman sir Mr. Sahibjit Singh Sandhu, and our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, amidst cheers, reminding everyone of the power of righteousness and the spirit of Dussehra.


Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations

With a view to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi ji, Paragon Convent School celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with immense pride and patriotism. The program commenced with the stirring rendition of our National Song ‘Vande Mataram’ which invoked a deep sense of patriotism among the audience. The highlight of the program was a Hindi play which depicted the contribution of freedom fighters with powerful dialogues and dramatic scenes. The event concluded with the appreciation of all the participants for their efforts and creativity by our Principal ma’am Mrs. Rajni Dutta.


Hindi Story Telling Competition

With an aim to develop the imagination and to stimulate the curiosity of the students, a ‘Hindi Story Telling Competition’ was organised for the students of class UKG by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh. The young story-tellers narrated different value based stories fluently with their charm, actions and humour. The competition not only helped in building the speaking skills of the students but also reinforced significant moral values amongst everyone. Our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, acknowledged the hard work of every student and congratulated the winners for their wonderful performances.


Hindi Rhyme Recitation Competition

In order to hone the verbal competencies of the students, a ‘Hindi Rhyme Recitation Competition’ was organized for the students of class Nursery and LKG on September 2,2024 by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh. Our tiny tots mesmerised everyone with their power packed performances, voice modulation and expressions. Their usage of props and clarity of concept added an additional charm in their performances. All the participants were motivated and the winners were duly appreciated by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta.


English Grammar Activity

We believe that English language plays a crucial role in our students’ education and future prospects. Therefore, to make this an immensive experience for our students , which will help them improve their communication, vocabulary and confidence in using the language. Kindergarten wing of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, organized an English grammar activity by using simple sentence-building games. Incorporate colorful flashcards with pictures and words, encouraging children to understand prepositions, opposites, and action words. Use interactive storytelling to help them identify parts of speech, fostering an early understanding of sentence structure while keeping the atmosphere playful and creative.


National Sports Day

Paragon Convent School celebrated National Sports Day on 29th August with great fervour and excitement by organising various sports activities for its students of different classes. The students actively participated in games like frog race, jumping race, kho-kho and chess which helped to inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship in them. All the students also took the ‘Fit India Pledge’ which motivated them to adopt an active and healthy lifestyle for their fitness and health.


Janmashtmi Celebrations

The Kindergarten wing of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, was alive with energy and happiness as young Krishna devotees joyfully celebrated Janmashtami on 24 September, 2024. The children, dressed as Krishna and Radha, captivated everyone with their charming reenactments of scenes from Lord Krishna’s life, using delightful props like tiny butter pots and flutes.

The celebration started with a storytelling session that brought to life the playful adventures of young Krishna, followed by the singing of soulful bhajans. The kids then immersed themselves in a creative art and craft session, where they made special keepsakes with the help of their teachers. The highlight of the day was the thrilling ‘Matki Phod’ event, where the revered Principal, alongside a child dressed as Krishna, broke a suspended pot filled with treats. The day was filled with joy, creativity, and spiritual reflection, leaving everyone with lasting smiles and wonderful memories.


ISKCON Temple Visit

Field trips are not only meant for fun but they can also act as valuable learning experiences for young children. They help build background knowledge, confidence and vocabulary that are important for success in both school and life. With this aim and to mark the birthday of Lord Krishna , the students of Kindergarten of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh visited ISKCON Temple on September 23, 2024. Apart from seeking blessings, the students also enjoyed singing and travelling in the bus along with their teachers and eating prasad. Overall, it was a day full of fun and frolic that also imbibed religious values amongst the students.


Special Assembly

With a view to applaud the hard work and zeal of the students, a special assembly was organised at Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh for the students of classes II-IV. The winners and other participants of the inter- house ‘Maths and Science Quiz’ held on July 20′ 2024 were felicitated with the appreciation certificates. Daffodil House had secured the first position in this quiz followed by Jasmine House and Zinnia House respectively. All the students were then guided by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta who motivated all the students to continue achieving greater heights with their dedication and commitment .


Independence Day Celebrations

Soaked in patriotic hues, Paragon Convent School celebrated Independence Day to commemorate the saga of countless sacrifices, struggle and ecstasy of blissful freedom attained ultimately! As a part of the celebration of our 77 years of Independence Day, students of Kindergarten wing participated in an Apparel Run with the theme ‘Freedom Fighters’. It not only helped them to realize the importance of preserving this freedom but also made them aware of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters.


Special Assembly

With a view to acknowledge the hard work and achievements of the students, a special assembly was organised at Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh for the students of classes V-VIII. The winners and other participants of the interhouse ‘Maths and Science Quiz’ held on July 27’2024 were awarded appreciation certificates. Zinnia House had secured the first position in this quiz followed by Jasmine House and Daffodil House respectively. The winners of the competition on ‘Artificial Intelligence’ were also bestowed with appreciation certificates. All the students were then motivated by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta who encouraged all the students to aim higher in their academic endeavours.


Recitation Activities

Recitation activities help students build confidence as they learn to speak more accurately and persuasively about any piece of writing. With this in mind, an English Rhyme Recitation Competition was organized on July 18, 2024, for our young learners, where the children astonished everyone with their voice modulation and impressive memorization skills. The winners of the competition were acknowledged with certificates of appreciation by our respected Principal, Ms. Rajni Dutta.


Artificial Intelligence Competition

To aware students about artificial intelligence, a competition was organised at Paragon Convent School, on 31st July 2024. Students of classes 6 to 8 participated with great zeal. Various aspects of AI were discussed during the presentation including their pros and cons. Students described the topic in great detail. They explained about future scope and advantages of AI. Students were enlightened and got to know about the topic in detail. The session was concluded with speech by principal mam. It was an enthusiastic and insightful session over all.


Evacuation Drill

With a notion to familiarize students and staff with evacuation procedures and to assess the effectiveness of the school emergency response plan, a comprehensive evacuation drill was conducted in Paragon Convent School on 30th July,2024.The drill began with a stimulated alarm signal and an announcement wherein students and staff were instructed to evacuate the premises through evacuation routes in calm manner.Teachers and staff supervised and guided students during the evacuation process. The drill was timed to assess the speed and efficiency of the evacuation.


Clay modeling activity

Clay modeling is an activity that nurtures a child’s creativity, boosts imagination, imbibes self-confidence, and promotes problem-solving skills.
The Tiny Tots of Paragon Convent School participated in the clay modeling activity on July 27, 2024, wherein they pounded, squeezed, rolled, and blended the clay to make some amazing fun objects and displayed them with pride. The finished product at hand was a treasure to cherish for the young ones as they experienced the feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction.
All the students thoroughly enjoyed it as it was a great way to develop imagination and spark creativity to think outside the box.


Math Quiz Competition

There is nothing like a little competition to make for perfection. Keeping this in mind the Inter-House Science and Math Quiz Competition was organized in which students of class V to VIII participated with great enthusiasm.The students proved their mettle. The various rounds in quiz lifted the level of interest of not only the participants but also the audience. The competition was tough and the children held their nerve and contested keenly.The students not only gained knowledge but also enjoyed answering the varied questions that were compiled for them.Our Principal ma’am congratulated the students on their grand success and wished them a bright future in their forthcoming quizzing endeavors.


Dental Check Up

A healthy smile is a reflection of a healthy mind and body.” We are committed to sensitizing our students about the significance of oral hygiene and overall health. We aim at keeping those smiles shining bright!
On July 20th, Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, conducted a successful dental check-up for our enthusiastic students from classes 5 to 7. The session focused on the importance of oral hygiene, teaching them proper brushing and flossing techniques, and emphasizing the value of regular dental visits. Our students were eager to learn and participate, making the event a resounding success.
Special thanks to the dental team for their informative session and to the parents for their continuous support. Together, we are building healthier futures for our children.


Science and Mathematics quiz competition

Science and Mathematics quiz competition was organized in Paragon Convent School, Sector-24B Chandigarh on 20th,July2024 with the aim of promoting leaning, creativity and critical thinking among students creating an atmosphere buzzing with excitement and intellectual curiosity. The event was a huge success with enthusiastic participation from students of grades (II-IV). The event provided a platform for students to develop their teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills . The quiz was an enriching experience for all participants, with students learning from each other’s strengths and weaknesses where winning teams will be awarded with certificates and prizes.


Rhyme Recitation Competition

Poetry is a literary work in which the expression of feelings and ideas is given intensity with the use of distinctive style, rhythm, action, and intonation. Our young poets of Kindergarten enthusiastically participated in the English Rhyme Recitation Competition held in the school on July 18, 2024. The props were used beautifully by everyone, rendering lucid depictions of their thoughts. Our Principal ma’am congratulated and encouraged all the young achievers for their performances and blessed the best orator. Congratulations to the winners.


Splashing Blues & Rainy Delights!

A day of pure fun and color magic unfolded at our school as we celebrated the *“Rainy Day as Blue Color Day”* with a dash of rain dance excitement! Rainy Day is always a fun time for the kids. To celebrate these showers of monsoon, the pre-primary students of Paragon Convent School came all armed in their raincoats & umbrellas to splash & revel in the rain. The students of Kindergarten were brought out in the open by their teachers with umbrellas and raincoats to enjoy the playful rainy weather. It was fun singing rhymes. Also, students were made aware of the rainy season’s food, creatures, and apparel, etc. The kids really had a festive time with their friends and teachers. This Rainy Day celebration was full of fun & frolic.


Mother’s Day Celebration

In a heartwarming celebration of Mother’s Day, Paragon Convent School Sector 24B, Chandigarh, hosted a delightful event dedicated to the mothers of its Nursery class students. The event, brimming with love and appreciation, featured captivating performances by the Nursery students, who showcased their dancing talents in honor of their beloved mothers. Adding to the jubilant atmosphere, various engaging games were organized, providing an opportunity for the mothers. The spirit of friendly competition filled the air as prizes were awarded to the victorious mothers, creating moments of joy and camaraderie. Amidst the celebration, Mrs. Sunderpreet Kaur Sandhu, the esteemed Director of the school, graced the occasion with her presence, adding an extra touch of warmth and significance to the event. Our respected Principal, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, delivered an inspiring speech, expressing gratitude for the unconditional love and support that mothers provide. Her words resonated deeply, underscoring the invaluable role of mothers in nurturing and shaping the future generation. It was a day filled with cherished memories and heartfelt gratitude, reaffirming the special bond between mothers and their children.


Labour Day

Paragon Convent School always believes in acknowledging the hard work and dedication of the working class. With this notion in mind, ‘Labour Day’ celebrations were conducted by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on May 1’ 2024. The cabinet members prepared handmade cards expressing their admiration and gratitude towards the employees while the management arranged a special brunch for them. The contribution of these employees towards the smooth functioning of the school was also duly appreciated by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta.


Annual Investiture Ceremony

With a vision to encourage the emerging leaders amongst us, those who have shown their dedication, resilience, and commitment towards our collective goals the’Annual Investiture Ceremony’ held at Paragon Convent School on 27th April, 2024 which was a grand event with an aim to foster a positive school environment and nurturing young talent. Students from classes VII to VIII were awarded the titles of House captains, vice-captains, school and head girl, while students from classes V to VIII received badges as class monitors and discipline incharges to enhance their social and leadership skills.The oath taking ceremony was followed up for the newly elected cabinet members. The cabinet members expressed their enthusiasm and pledged commitment to serve diligently throughout the academic year. The ceremony concluded with a motivational address by Principal Mrs. Rajni Dutta, inspiring the prefects towards integrity and success.


Honor the titles of monitors and discipline incharge

The Paragon Convent School had organized a special assembly to honor the titles of monitors and discipline incharge to the deserving students of Classes 1 to 4 who have been selected after showcasing their sincerity towards the school. The Principal Mam , Mrs. Rajni Dutta had personally encouraged and inspired them to uphold their responsibilities with diligence and pride. During the special assembly, the students were gathered in the ground adorned with optimism . The stage was illuminated, showcasing the school’s emblem prominently. A sense of pride and accomplishment filled the air as the Principal Mam delivered a heartfelt speech, emphasizing the importance of their roles in maintaining order and discipline within the school.


Earth Day Celebration

Paragon Convent School, aiming to expose children to nature at a young age and instill love and respect for the environment, celebrated Earth Day as Green Day on April 22, 2024. Today, the school embraced the spirit of Earth Day with a vibrant celebration, transforming the usual morning assembly into a colorful display of green. Students arrived clad in verdant attire, symbolizing their commitment to environmental awareness. The school courtyard buzzed with excitement as students unpacked their tiffin boxes filled with nutritious green foods and fruits, demonstrating their dedication to sustainability and eco-friendly practices. Through this initiative, Paragon Convent School reaffirms its pledge to nurture a generation of environmentally conscious individuals who recognize the importance of preserving our planet for future generations


Vaisakhi Celebration

In a jubilant display of cultural richness and tradition, Paragon Convent School Sector 24, Chandigarh organised Vaisakhi celebration for Kindergarten and Grade 1 with great fervor and enthusiasm.
The school premises echoed with the rhythmic beats of traditional Punjabi music as little ones adorned in colorful ethnic attires danced merrily, spreading the infectious spirit of Vaisakhi. Teachers and students alike participated in various activities and presentations, showcasing the significance of this auspicious occasion.
The Vaisakhi celebration not only provided a platform for cultural exchange but also instilled values of unity, diversity, and harmony among the budding minds, ensuring a memorable and enriching experience for all involved in it.


A new school year means new beginnings, new adventures, and new challenges

With this notion in mind, Paragon Convent School began the new academic session on the 5th of April,2024.
Our little munchkins stepped into the school with backpacks slung over tiny shoulders. Bright smiles lighting up their faces as eagerly embraced all that awaited them. Their mentors had planned a special day to add to their smiles. A plethora of physical activities was organised to spark their imaginations and ignite their curiosity. Overall, it was a day full of laughter, joy, and excitement.


Orientation Programme

With a view to acquaint the students and parents of the kindergarten wing with the school norms and activities, an ‘Orientation Programme’ was organised by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, on April 1’ 2024. Special emphasis was laid on the critical domains like sensory, psychological, cognitive and psycho-motor development of the child. A general overview of the year long activities conducted for the holistic development of children was also given during the session. The orientation concluded with a greater motivation in each mind to begin a new journey of learning with fun


Farewell Celebration

In order to bid a warm adieu to the students of class VIII, a ‘Farewell Celebration’ was organised by the faculty members and students of class VII of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, on February 28’ 2024, within the school premises. The event was graced by our esteemed Chairman Sir, Mr. Sahibjeet Singh Sandhu, Director ma’am, Mrs. Sunderpreet Sandhu and Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta. The event commenced with a heart-warming welcome speech, followed by a plethora of fun games and dance performances by the students of classes VII and VIII. Special titles were also bestowed upon the students and gifts were distributed amongst them as a token of remembrance. A speech was also delivered by the head boy and head girl of the school expressing their gratitude to the management. Before the culmination of the event, our Chairman Sir, Principal ma’am and the class incharge of class VIII addressed the students to motivate and guide them for their bright future.


Drawing and Colouring Competition

“Art is an important way for human beings to express emotions, ideas and messages.”
With this aim, Paragon Convent School organized a drawing and colouring competition on February 27’ 2024, for their budding artists of the kindergarten wing which aimed at encouraging the children to let their imagination run wild. The kids successfully created magical worlds filled with fantastical creature enchanted landscapes and delightful surprises. All of them were duly encouraged and the winners were appreciated by our respected principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta. It was a day full of fun, enthusiasm and colours all around!


Special Assembly

With an aim to acknowledge the achievements of the students and to boost their morale, a special assembly was conducted for the students of classes Nursery to I by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on February 20’ 2024 wherein the winners of the ‘Hindi rhyme recitation competition’, ‘Hindi story telling competition’ and ‘Show and Tell competition’ were duly praised and awarded with certificates of merit by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta.


Hindi Story Telling Competition

With an aim to boost the creativity and verbal competencies of the students, a ‘Hindi Story Telling Competition’ was organised for the students of class LKG by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh. Our toddlers narrated several exciting stories which were deeply rooted in good morals. Their fluency and actions further enhanced their performances. The competition enabled every child to be a confident speaker and imbibe the said values themselves as well. Our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, acknowledged the efforts of each student and congratulated the winners for their extra-ordinary performances.


Show and Tell Competition

With a view to boost the communication skills of the students and to provide a platform for creative self-expression, a ‘Show and Tell Competition’ was organised for the students of class I by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on February 7’ 2024. The theme of the competition was ‘My favourite toy’ which was executed wonderfully by all the students. Their fluency, usage of props and joyful expressions added a glitter to the overall event. All the students as well as winners were duly praised and applauded by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta


Lohri Celebration

Lohri is an annual festival celebrated with immense gaiety across India. It heralds the beginning of ripening of winter crops and marks the end of winter season. The management and staff of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh commemorated the festival of Lohri on January 12’ 2024 by lighting up a bonfire in the school premises and distributing sweets. Our chairman sir, Mr. Sahibjit Singh Sandhu, along with our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, graced this auspicious occasion with their presence and wished for the prosperity of one and all. The event left everyone in high spirits and an added zeal for the days to come.


Church Visit

With a view to mark the occasion of Christmas and to instil religious values among the students, a church visit was organised by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, on December 22’ 2023 for the students of classes I-VIII. The students were all excited for the visit and had brought candles to be lit as a token of respect. Not only did they enjoy the Christmas vibrancy at the church but also grasped a better understanding regarding Christ’s nativity. Overall, the church visit enabled them to understand the importance of righteousness and the spirit of sacrifice.


Christmas celebration

In order to commemorate the occasion of Christmas and to bid farewell to the students before the winter break, Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, organised a Christmas celebration on December 22’ 2023 wherein a magic show was held especially for the students. The magician performed manifold enchanting tricks and lured the children with the sleight of his hands. Some students also tried the tricks themselves and enjoyed their time. All the students were enthralled to watch the performance. This was followed by Christmas carols and dance performances by the students of classes II-III. Every child had a joyous smile upon meeting Santa Claus as well who distributed sweets. Overall, the day was full of fun and frolic where each child was looking forward to enjoy the festive season.


Church Visit

A visit to a holy place deepens our faith in God and allows us to imbibe the values necessary for our sustenance. Keeping this in mind, Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, organised a church visit on December 21’ 2023, for the kindergarten students, where they felt immense joy and serenity amidst the vibes of Christmas. Students were also told to purchase the candles to be lit inside the church. This visit helped the students to learn and explore different cultural values and understand the importance of prayer as an essential part of our lives. Thus, on day two of the ‘Christmas carnival’, the kids strode on the path of inner light and peace that accompanies the festival of Christmas.


Special assembly

With a view to boost the morale of the students and to acknowledge the winners of the 51st State Level Science Exhibition organised by the SCERT, Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, organised a Special assembly on December 20’ 2023. All the winners, namely, Dev, Manavi and Paridhi were awarded with a cash prize for securing the second position. While Paridhi had successfully participated in round one, Manavi had participated in round 2 of the exhibition. Our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, bestowed the students with the prizes and motivated them to keep up their hard work. A pledge was also undertaken by all the students and staff members during the assembly to eradicate child begging and discourage it by all means as a part of the Child Beggary Prevention Campaign.


Taekwondo competition

Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, always takes immense pleasure in the achievements of its students in both curricular and co-curricular aspects. Our student of class III-B, Ishani, brought great laurels to the school with her wonderful performance in the Taekwondo competition organised by the Chandigarh Taekwondo Association at Aanchal International School, Sector 41, Chandigarh, where she bagged a bronze medal.
She was duly praised for her performance by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta. We wish her good luck for all her future endeavours as well.

Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, always believes in nurturing the inner talent of its students and motivating them for their achievements. Our student of class VIII, Samar Maurya, has yet again brought accolades to the school with his meritorious performance in the Taekwondo competition organised by Stepping Stones School, Sector 38, Chandigarh, where he bagged a bronze medal.
He was duly acknowledged for his exemplary performance by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta. We wish him all the best for all his future endeavours.


Armed Forces Flag day

In order to instil nationalistic values amongst the students and to sensitise them about the sacrifices and hardships of the armed forces, Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, celebrated the Armed Forces Flag day in the school premises on December 7’ 2023, along with the staff and students. A special assembly was also organised to commemorate the event wherein the significance of the day was emphasised by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta. All the teachers and students wore a flag over their dress so as to pay due respect to the armed forces who strive hard to keep our borders secure.


International Karate Do Championship

Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, always feels proud to acknowledge its students in both curricular and co-curricular aspects. Our student from class V A, Aarav Bhardwaj, brought accolades to the school by securing the second position in the 2nd International Karate Do Championship organised by the Karate association of Nawanshahr (Punjab), held on November 25’ and November 26’ 2023. The student was duly praised by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, for his extra-ordinary efforts and performance. The PCS family wishes him good luck for his future endeavours as well.


51st State Level Science Exhibition

It is always a matter of great pride for the PCS family to acknowledge the victories of its students. Our students of class VI, Dev Rajput and Manavi, have brought immense laurels to the school by securing the second position in the 51st State Level Science Exhibition organised by the SCERT at State Institute of Education (SIE), Sector 32, Chandigarh, from November 29’ 2023 to December 1’ 2023. The students presented their unique idea of initiating ‘Artificial rainfall’ which appealed to everyone and was in accordance with the need of the hour in barren areas. The students were appreciated and felicitated by the esteemed Director of the Chandigarh Education Department, Mr. Harsuhinder Pal Singh and the Director of SIE, Mr. Surender S. Dahiya. Our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, also applauded the students for their creativity and dedication. The students of classes V-VIII were also taken for a visit to the Science exhibition to witness the magnificence of the models. We wish good luck to both the winners and hope that they continue to uplift the name of the school.


Gurupurab Celebration

With this aim and to mark the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the students of Kindergarten and Grade 1 of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh visited a Gurudwara Sahib on November 25’ 2023. Apart from seeking blessings, the students also enjoyed singing and travelling in the bus along with their teachers and eating prasad. Overall, it was a day full of fun and frolic that also imbibed religious values amongst the students.


Punjabi poetry recitation competition

In order to enable the students to develop and enhance their linguistic skills and to increase cultural awareness amongst them, Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, organised a ‘Punjabi poetry recitation competition’ on November 25’ 2023. The students of classes VI-VIII participated enthusiastically in the same under the able guidance of their teacher, Ms. Rupinder Kaur. The themes discussed by the participants were not only humorous but also in line with every common man’s life. With their appropriate expressions, intonation and fluent verbal skills, they left everyone spell-bound. All the participants were appreciated for their efforts by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, while the winners were applauded for their extra-ordinary display of talent.


Annual Function

The school’s Annual function is an event that motivates every student to perform to the best of their capabilities and use their learning experiences in an interactive way. With this notion in mind, Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, organised its Annual function on November 7’ 2023 at Tagore theatre, Sector 18, Chandigarh, for the students of classes Nursery to VIII. The event was graced by eminent chief guests like Mr. Amarjit Singh Katari, Mr. Balbir Singh and Mrs. Bisman Maan along with our chairman sir, Mr. Sahibjit Singh Sandhu, our Director ma’am, Mrs. Sunderpreet Kaur Sandhu, our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, Vice-principal ma’am, Mrs. Parv Makkar and parents. A plethora of performances on themes like unity in diversity, kindness, gratitude, saving the environment, obedience along with yoga and other dances enthralled each and everyone. Not only did the students perform meticulously but also enjoyed each and every step that they performed. The event culminated with the Prize distribution ceremony and distribution of mementos to our esteemed guests of honour. The day was definitely full of enthusiasm, fervour and zest and gave everyone fond memories to cherish forever.


Yogasana Sports Championship

Paragon Convent School always aims at polishing the curricular and co-curricular abilities of its students. A student of class V A, Aarav, has secured the sixth position in the Chandigarh State Yogasana Sports Championship 2023 organised by the Chandigarh Yogasana Association on October 28’ 2023. On the other hand, a student of class V B, Divyansh Paswan, bagged a silver medal in the 10th Open Tricity Teakwondo Championship 2023 organised by the Intensity Martial Arts Association on October 29’ 2023. The exemplary performance of both the students had brought immense accolades to the school. The students were duly appreciated and acknowledged for their performance by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta. The PCS family wishes them good luck for all their future endeavours!


Dussehra Celebrations

Dussehra, also known as ‘Vijayadashami’, is one of the biggest festivals celebrated in India. This festival marks the celebration of victory of Lord Rama over the demon King Ravana and spreads the message of goodness all around. In order to commemorate this occasion, a Dussehra celebration was organised by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, on October 23’ 2023. The management, staff and students took part in the celebration with full zest and zeal. The guest of honour, our chairman sir, Mr. Sahibjit Singh Sandhu set alight the effigy of Ravana. The burning of the effigy ignited a spirit of positivity and happiness amongst all and symbolised the victory of good over evil.


Javelin throw competition

Paragon Convent School strives at creating an environment that nurtures both scholastic and co-scholastic development of its students. A student of class III B, Harseerat Kaur, secured the second position in the Javelin throw competition conducted by the Chandigarh Athletics Association. Her hard work has brought great accolades to the school. The student was duly appreciated and acknowledged for her performance by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta. Teaching road signals

Teaching road signals to kindergarten students is a crucial step in fostering early road safety awareness. Road signals play a vital role in ensuring the safety of pedestrians and drivers on the road. By introducing these concepts at a young age, children can develop a core understanding of road safety, which will serve them well as they grow older.
With this aim , teachers at Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, created a mini traffic park within the school premises wherein the children practiced stopping at the ‘stop’ sign and learnt ways of using pedestrian crosswalks. They were also taught to identify the road signals and did a role-play activity by becoming vehicles on road and having fun with each other. Overall, it was a day full of learning, fun and frolic.


Evacuation Drill

With a view to sensitise the students about disaster management and corresponding evacuation strategies, Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, conducted an evacuation drill for the students of classes Nursery to VIII on October 5’ 2023. The students, along with their teachers, followed the evacuation plan and imbibed the necessary mindfulness regarding the appropriate course of action during emergencies. The drill was conducted successfully.


Taekwondo Championship

Paragon Convent School takes great honour in acknowledging the achievements of its students. A student of class VIII, Samar Maurya, bagged a gold medal in the 6th Universal Taekwondo Championship conducted by the Universal Taekwondo Academy. His extra-ordinary performance has yet again brought immense laurels to the school. His efforts were duly appreciated by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, who also acknowledged him for showing consistency in his performances. Cleanliness Drive

In order to render a contribution to the ‘Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta’ initiative launched by the Government of India on October 1’ 2023, the teachers, staff and students of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, took part with full zest and zeal in the ‘Cleanliness Drive.’ All the students and teachers put in their full efforts to clean their surroundings as well as the school premises. The idea of propagating a mindfulness towards the society was fully instilled in the minds of all the students and teachers through this cleanliness drive.


Good Touch and Bad Touch

The ‘Good Touch and Bad Touch’ activity is an important educational tool aimed at teaching children about personal boundaries, safe touch and the way to recognize inappropriate contacts. In order to sensitize the students of U.K.G. class of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, a ‘Good Touch and Bad Touch’ activity was conducted, wherein students were taught about the need of the hour under the able guidance of their teachers and the measures that can be taken in such situations. Overall, it was an informative session for the students in which they learnt to be more alert and responsive.


Nutritious Food Activity

In our ongoing effort to educate and promote healthy eating habits among our students, the kindergaten teachers of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, had organized a comprehensive nutritious food activity. This activity is designed to instill an understanding of the importance of nutrition in maintaining the overall health and well-being.

The activity began with an interactive session where students learnt about the essential nutrients their bodies require, the role of these nutrients in supporting growth, energy and the proper functioning of the body.

To make the learning experience more engaging, we incorporated hands-on elements too. Students got the chance to identify and sort various food items on the basis of food choices and health outcomes.

By actively involving our students in these nutrition-focused activities, we aimed to empower them with the knowledge and skills necessary to make healthy food choices throughout their lives. Our goal is to cultivate a generation that understands the significance of nutrition and values the impact it has on their overall well-being.


Janmashtami Celebrations

The kindergarten wing of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, was filled with joy and excitement as young Krishna devotees celebrated Janmashtami in the school with great enthusiasm on September 4’ 2023. Dressed in adorable Krishna ji and Radha ji’s costumes, the little ones enacted scenes from Lord Krishna’s life, using props like tiny butter pots and flutes.
The day began with a story-telling session about Lord Krishna’s childhood adventures and singing bhajans, followed by a vibrant art and craft session where kids created their take aways with their teachers. The highlight of the celebration was the ‘Matki Phod’ game, where our respected Principal ma’am, with one of our toddler dressed as Lord Krishna, broke a suspended pot filled with goodies. It was a day of full of fun, learning, and spiritual enrichment, leaving everyone with smiles and cherished memories.


Teacher’s Day celebration

To celebrate the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and to give a tribute to the invaluable contributions made by teachers in shaping the future of the students, a Teacher’s Day celebration was organised by the students of class VIII of Paragon Convent school, Sector 24, Chandigarh, on September 4’, 2023. The event commenced with a speech of gratitude to honour the efforts of all the teachers. It was followed by a dance performance and poetry recitation by the students. Various games were also organised for the teachers to add fun to the celebration. Before concluding, a prize distribution ceremony for the winners and a cake cutting ceremony was held in the presence of the guest of honour, our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta. The event ended with great pomp and show and a smile on each face.


Uses of Fire Extinguishers

With an aim to enlighten the students about the types and uses of fire extinguishers, an interactive seminar was organised by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, on September 2’ 2023, for the students of classes V-VIII. It was presided over by an eminent resource person from the Police Department of Sector 17, Chandigarh. Multiple quick responses to real life emergency situations were explained and taught to the students during the session. The queries of the students regarding additional precautionary measures were also addressed by our resource person of the day by way of which every student was able to imbibe the information in a mindful way.


Rakhi Making Competition

With an aim to nurture the creativity of students and allow them to imbibe the significance of Indian traditions, a ‘Rakhi making competition’ was organised by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on August 29’ 2023. The students of classes I-VIII participated in the competition with immense enthusiasm. They used a variety of materials like glitter sheets, woollen threads, sequins, beads and ribbons to prepare their rakhis and exhibited their creativity in manifold ways. Each and every rakhi prepared by them was a mark of their love for their siblings. The efforts of all the students were appreciated by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta and the winners were applauded for their exemplary show of creativity.


Educational Trip

In order to boost the real life learning of the students and to increase their social awareness, Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, organised an educational trip to ‘The Tribune’ printing press on August 25’ 2023 for the students of classes V-VIII. The students were informed about the entire procedure undertaken to print a newspaper and the various materials used during these stages. The queries of the students were duly addressed by the concerned staff members as well as teachers simultaneously. By the end of the trip, each student’s mind was brimmed with knowledge and a new mindfulness.


Visit To Grocery Store

A supermarket is a large grocery store, where one can find wide a variety of food items, household products and many more utility items all under one roof. To grab the hands in experience of the same, the students of kindergarten wing of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, were taken to a supermarket on August 24’ 2023. The children were taken through different sections of the store where they discussed joyfully about the things they saw. Teachers taught them about the classification of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food items by identifying the red and green dot on the packets and the concept of buying the product, checking the expiry date and a general awareness about the billing counter was also provided to the students. The children were oriented to always express gratitude to the staff members in any shop by saying ‘Thank you’ for their help. It was indeed a fun learning experience for the little ones!


Computer Quiz

With an aim to enhance the cognitive capacity of the students and to boost their interest in computer as a subject, a ‘Computer Quiz’ was organised by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on August 19’ 2023 for the students of classes II-IV. The quiz was conducted between the four houses, namely, Daffodil, Jasmine, Tulip and Zinnia. It had a total of four intense rounds wherein the participants displayed their caliber and knowledge of the subject. After all rounds, Jasmine house was declared as the winner. Our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, appreciated the efforts of all the students and congratulated the winners for their enthusiastic performance.


Independence Day Celebration

“Freedom was hard to get, but we are blessed to have it.” Let’s appreciate everything we have and celebrate the great miracle of freedom.
With this spirit and to pay an ode to the sacrifices of the brave hearts, the students of kindergarten wing at Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm by dressing up and enacting as ‘National Heroes’ of our country. A special assembly was conducted wherein the students were told about the importance of the day and also given a platform to showcase their talent.
A plethora of classroom activities were also done to mark the occasion. Overall, the day was full of colours of joy, wisdom and fun.


Independence Day competition

In order to commemorate the auspicious occasion of India’s 76th Independence Day, an Independence Day competition was organised for the students of classes I-III by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on August 14’ 2023. The students of classes I-II played the role of their ‘favourite freedom fighter’ and ‘favourite political figure’ respectively whereas the students of class III represented their ‘favourite Indian states’. Each and every student displayed an immense show of talent by dressing up as their role models and mesmerised the listeners with their fluent verbal skills and thoughts. Our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, appreciated the efforts of all the participants and applauded the efforts of all the winners.


Bronze Medal in Freedom Fighters Memorial Karate Championship

Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, feels immensely honoured to see its students growing and flourishing in all spheres of life. A student of class III-B, Shaurya Paswan, has brought great laurels to the school by winning a bronze medal in the ‘Freedom Fighters Memorial Karate Championship’ 2023 organised by the Karate-Do-Indo-Ryu Association International on July 30’ 2023. He has outshined his capabilities and set an example for his peers to achieve the same. We wish him good luck for his future endeavours!

Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, never fails to acknowledge the victories of its students in all spheres. A student of class III-A, Arshita, brought accolades to the school by winning a bronze medal in the ‘Freedom Fighters Memorial Karate Championship’ 2023 organised by the Karate-Do-Indo-Ryu Association International on July 13’ 2023. She has lifted the name of the school beyond measure with her achievement by being promoted to the next round and attaining the yellow belt. We wish her good luck for her future endeavours!


Computer Quiz

With an aim to accelerate the critical thinking abilities of the students and to help them progress in the technical aspects of computer as a subject, a ‘Computer Quiz’ was organised for the students of classes V-VIII by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, on August 5’ 2023. The participants were divided into four teams as per their houses, namely, Daffodil, Jasmine, Tulip and Zinnia. The quiz had four rounds focusing on the finer nuances of computer, its purpose and multiple functions. After four fierce rounds, Zinnia house was declared as the winner. Our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, appreciated the enthusiasm of all the participants and congratulated the winners for their special achievement.


Special Assembly

With an aim to applaud the hard work and diligence of the students, a special assembly was organised by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, for the students of classes V-VIII where the position holders as well as other participants of the ‘Science and Maths quiz’ held on July 22’ 2023 were presented with appreciation certificates. Zinnia house had grabbed the first position, followed by Jasmine house in the competition. All the students were then motivated by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, who also addressed the students regarding the significance of participation in co- curricular activities.


Yoga Competition

Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, always takes pride in recognising the co-curricular achievements of its students. The Brahmrishi Yoga Training College, Sector 19, Chandigarh, had organised a yoga competition on July 27’ 2023, wherein the students of class V of our school participated with full zeal and fervour. A student of class V-B, Yaduraj Singh, managed to secure the silver medal in the same under the able guidance of our yoga teacher, Ms. Anita.Our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, congratulated him for bringing immense laurels to the PCS family with his victory. With a view to expand the learning horizons of the students, a ‘Science and Maths Quiz’ was organised for the students of classes V-VIII by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, on July 22’ 2023. The quiz was conducted wherein the students belonging to the four houses, namely, Daffodil, Jasmine, Tulip and Zinnia participated with immense enthusiasm. After four intense and intriguing rounds focusing on key scientific terms and mathematical theories, Zinnia house was announced as the winner. Our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, appreciated the efforts of all the participants and congratulated the winners for their exceptional performance.

The quiz was conducted wherein the students belonging to the four houses, namely, Daffodil, Jasmine, Tulip and Zinnia participated with full fervour and zeal. After four breath-taking rounds focusing on basic scientific and mathematical concepts, Jasmine house was announced as the winner. Our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, motivated all the participants to keep working hard and congratulated the winners for their phenomenal performance.


English Rhyme Recitation

The kindergarten section of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, organized an enchanting display of talent and creativity during the ‘English Rhyme Recitation’ Competition held on July 19 and July 20’ 2023. The little munchkins of kindergarten wing showcased their remarkable linguistic skills as they melodiously recited rhymes with vivacious expressions. The event aimed to nurture public speaking abilities and foster confidence in young learners. The toddlers charmed the listeners with their expressive gestures and impeccable pronunciation. Our principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, appreciated the winners for their outstanding performances and congratulated all the participants for making the event an overwhelming success.


Special Assembly

With a view to acknowledge and appreciate the achievements of its students, Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, organised a special assembly on July 18’ 2023 wherein the students of classes V-VIII were endowed with certificates of merit for qualifying the inter-school spell bee competition. A student of class VII, Vaishnavi, was also bestowed with a medal for securing the first position in the same. Our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, congratulated the students for their success and motivated them to keep up their efforts.


Dental Health

With an aim to sensitise the students about oral hygiene and other significant practices, an awareness session on ‘Dental Health’ was organised by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, on July 18’ 2023 for the students of classes V-VIII. The keynote speaker of the day, Dr. Sikander Singh, from ‘AURUM DENTISTRY’ addressed the staff and students about the need for a proper dental routine and it’s associated benefits. The session ended with a vote of thanks by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, who also emphasised the importance of dental hygiene in a person’s overall health regime.


Van Mahotsav

Van Mahotsav is an annual tree-planting festival in India which is celebrated in the first week of July. This festival reinstates the significance of forests and trees in our lives. With a view to reinforce and instill the same values, the students of class VIII along with our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, planted a sapling in the school premises on July 7’ 2023. Every student was able to imbibe the significance of tree plantation and resolved to commit themselves for creating a greener environment.


Bronze medal in National Taekwondo Championship

Paragon Convent School takes pride in acknowledging the rewards and achievements of its students. A student of class VIII, Samar Maurya, bagged a bronze medal in the 40th National Taekwondo Championship held in Lucknow during 9th to 11th June 2023. His exceptional performance has yet again brought immense laurels to the school. His efforts were duly praised by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta. Back to School Activities

Pursuing the educational journey post the summer vacation signifies new beginnings, new adventures and new challenges. The teachers at Paragon Convent School extended a warm and hearty welcome to all the young toddlers on July 5’2023 as they gathered again after the summer break, filled with sunshine and smiles. The day was planned with a plethora of fun-filled ‘back-to-school’ activities in order to calm the inquisitive minds, break the ice and prepare everyone for a fruitful time ahead.


Session on Stress management

In order to boost the efficiency and inter-personal skills of the staff members, an interactive session on ‘Stress management’ was organised for the teachers by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on July 3’ 2023. The session was presided over by Mr. Tarun K. Garg, who has an extensive expertise on stress management and related coping strategies. He not only uplifted the spirits of all the teachers but also familiarised them about multiple breathing techniques that play an important role in calming our minds and keeping us positive. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, who acknowledged the mindfulness and wisdom of the resource person.


International Yoga Day

In order to commemorate the 9th International Yoga Day 2023, a yoga session for the students and faculty members was organised by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on June 21’ 2023, i.e., Wednesday. The session was conducted following the ‘Common Yoga Protocol’ wherein basic yoga poses and asanas were practiced by everyone with due zeal and fervour. By the end of this session, an aura of positivity prevailed all around and the participants learnt newer ways to incorporate yoga in their daily lifestyle, along with being sensitised about the significance of yoga in everyday life.


Movie Trip

With an aim to allow the children to enjoy their pre- vacation period and indulge in some learning with fun, a movie trip was organised by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, on May 22’ 2023, for the students of classes II-VIII. The students were taken to a multiplex for the same. Each and every student had evident fun and enjoyed the trip to the fullest along with their teachers.  The excursion paved a way to break the routine and allowed every student to bring out their inner child. All the students not only cherished the time spent during the day but also learnt about several genres and aspects of a movie.

Children often enjoy experimental activities, especially at a young age, when they want to explore and recreate everything that they see. On May 20’ 2023, the kindergarten wing of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, celebrated the ‘Red Day’. In order to mark the occasion,  all the kids were engaged in preparing Rooh Afza under the guidance of their teachers. They were taught how to mix water and Rooh Afza syrup to make a delicious summer drink. Children were very excited to make Rooh Afza themselves and they relished their self- prepared drinks while chanting “Thanda, Thanda, Cool, Cool.”

Mothers’ day, a day which recognises the importance and essence of a mother, was celebrated in high spirits at Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, on May 12’ 2023. The tiny tots of kindergarten wing were told that this day is all about thanking one’s mother for all the love she showers and the efforts she puts tirelessly throughout the year. The students enthusiastically made cards for their mothers and cherished fond memories. They also witnessed several wonderful dance performances by the seniors which helped them to imbibe manifold values. A self- composed poem was also recited by Pranaya of class V in order to highlight the affectionate bond between a mother and child. Overall, the day was full of enthusiasm, fun, sharing and planning of ideas so as to surprise their mothers. An inspirational and heart-warming speech was also given by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, to honour the sacrifices and devotion of all mothers

Special Assembly

With a view to hone and acknowledge the leadership qualities inherent in the students, Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh organised a ‘Special Assembly’ on April 17’ 2023. After showing an exemplary sincerity in the classroom, the selected students from classes I- IV were bestowed with the titles of class monitors and discipline incharges. The students were also motivated by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, to keep up their zeal and efforts in order to contribute towards the school in an efficient manner.


Session on Cyber Security

With a view to sensitize the students about cyber crimes and its prevention, Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh took a vital initiative and organised an informative session on ‘Cyber security’ for the students of classes V – VIII on April 15′ 2023. The session was presided over by Mr. Vikas Paswan, an esteemed member of the Cyber Crime Police Station, Sector 17, Chandigarh. Throughout the session, mindful inputs were shared by the resource person regarding the nature of cyber attacks and corresponding ways to detect them at the earliest. The session was helpful in enlightening the students about the probable threats and in suggesting immediate steps to minimise any loss of data.


Vaisakhi Celebrations

With a view to integrate cultural activities within the school environment, the students of kindergarten wing and teachers of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, celebrated the festival of Vaisakhi with great zest and fervour on April 13’ 2023. To keep the feel of the festival alive, a special corner was created depicting the main highlights of the festival. The students of kindergarten wing came dressed in traditional Punjabi attire for the festivities. Students of classes I-VIII also enjoyed the ethnic view and small acts being performed by our toddlers. The children grasped the importance of the day through creative visualization and enjoyed dancing on the beats of dhol and bhangra. Students also showcased their artistic skills by participating in various Vaisakhi themed art activities. The day was full of fun, frolic and enjoyment which spread a vibrant aura all around.


New Academic Session for Kindergarten

A new session brings new chances for greater exploration and learning.’ With this notion in mind, Paragon Convent School began the new academic session for kindergarten wing by instilling a new hope in each child’s mind to accept all challenges and utilise all learning avenues. The day was planned with fun-filled activities meant to engage the toddlers in cognitive and psycho-motor aspects. Each student felt welcomed in their new class and an aura of positivity was created by the faculty members all around.


New Student Welcome

“A new academic year brings new beginnings and new chances to unfold all the good things a school has to offer.” Paragon Convent School welcomed its tiny tots on the first day of their school journey in an amicable way. The air of cooperation and affability exuberated by the teachers helped the students to adapt to a new environment. The day commenced with new hopes and culminated with achievement of several learning goals.


Psychological First Aid

In order to hone the psycho-social capabilities and aptitude of the faculty members, an interactive session on ‘Psychological First Aid’ was organised by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, on March 29’ 2023. The session commenced with a welcome address and some pearls of wisdom by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, followed by the deliberations of the keynote speaker of the event, Ms. Anchal Sharma, an esteemed Counselling and Child Psychologist from Fortis Hospital, Mohali. Our guest speaker vividly highlighted the finer nuances of our day to day interactions with children and suggested effective strategies to deal with associated problems. Several activities were conducted for the faculty members as well so as to broaden their horizons and uplift their confidence. The session culminated with a fresher perspective on child support, care and mindful ways of coping with stressors in our day to day lives.


Orientation Programme

With a view to acquaint the students and parents of the kindergarten wing with the school norms and activities, an ‘Orientation Programme’ was organised by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, on March 29’ 2023. Special emphasis was laid on the critical domains like sensory, psychological, cognitive and psycho-motor development of the child. A general overview of the year long activities conducted for the holistic development of children was also given during the session. The orientation concluded with a greater motivation in each mind to begin a new journey of learning with fun.


Farewell Celebration

In order to bid a warm adieu to the students of class VIII, a ‘Farewell Celebration’ was organised by the faculty members and students of class VII of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, on February 25’ 2023, within the school premises. The event was graced by our esteemed Chairman Sir, Mr. Sahibjeet Singh Sandhu, Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta and Vice-Principal ma’am, Mrs. Parv Sandhu Makkar. The event commenced with a play highlighting the PCS journey of the students of class VIII, followed by a plethora of games and dance performances. Special titles were also conferred upon the students and gifts were distributed amongst them as a token of remembrance. Before the culmination of the event, our Chairman Sir, Principal ma’am and the class incharge of class VIII addressed the students to motivate them and render heartfelt wishes for their bright future.


Hindi Story Telling Competition

With an aim to develop imagination and to stimulate the curiosity of the students, a ‘Hindi Story Telling Competition’ was organised for the students of classes LKG and UKG on February 22’ 2023, by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh. The young story-tellers narrated several value based stories fluently with actions and humour. The competition not only helped in building the speaking skills of students but also reinforced significant moral values. Our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, acknowledged the hard work of each student and congratulated the winners for their wonderful performances.


Magic Show

Magic is a performing art that entertains everyone through seemingly impossible feats conducted by the use of tricks, illusions, sleight of hand and well-practiced moves.” It is said to be the best source of entertainment, education and engagement. It not only creates a fully emotional hook and but also piques a kid’s curiosity. Keeping this notion in mind, a magic show was organized at Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on February 17’ 2023 to culminate the session on a happy note and relieve the students from stress. The magician’s wand, words and distinctive style kept everybody astounded throughout the session. Children were amazed by the enchanting magic words and the tricks displayed before them. The session concluded with immense gaiety visible on every child’s face.


Annual Gala

Fostering the inherent talent of students is vital to promote their overall growth and development. With this thought in mind, Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, organised an ‘Annual Gala’ on February 10’ 2023, for the students of classes LKG and UKG. The tiny tots presented an immense show of skills by their role- play. The ‘Story of the Little Red Hen’ and ‘Meet The Solar System’ were the two highlights of the day. The event was graced with the presence of the parents of our young ones, in front of whom, the toddlers did an exceptional job. The day culminated with an appreciation speech by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, who acknowledged the hard-work and efforts rendered by students and teachers alike.


Introduction to Millets

With an aim to sensitise the students about the significance of incorporating healthy food items in their diet, a session on ‘Introduction to Millets’ was organised by the Health and Environment Club of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on February 4’ 2023. The session was organised in accordance with the declaration of 2023 as the ‘International Year of Millets’ by the UN. Students of classes III- VIII were explained about the types of millets and the diverse ways in which it can replace wheat or rice in our daily diet. Special emphasis was laid on the nutritional value obtained after the consumption of millets.


Good touch and Bad touch

“Wisdom is giving children their wings, along with the rudder of awareness to keep them safe from prying hands.” To achieve this aim, the teachers at Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, planned a day specially dedicated to safeguard and protect our toddlers of Kindergarten wing and give them the warmth of well-being through a deliberately planned programme on “Good touch and Bad touch.” This mindful session enabled every child to be more aware of their surroundings and respond wisely.


Creativity Competition

With a view to polish the creativity of students, Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh had organised a plethora of competitions. The winners of the same were felicitated by our honorable Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta.


Pariksha Pe Charcha

In order to facilitate and enhance the academic environment for the students, a ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ event is conducted annually under the leadership of our Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. Under this event, the Prime Minister interacts with the students, teachers and parents from all across the country where valuable opinions regarding academic stress and the ways to reduce it are duly discussed. In order to keep up with this spirit, the live telecast of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha 2023’ was shown to the teachers and students of classes V-VIII on January 27’ 2023 at 11 am. Watching the event on a virtual platform enabled the students to be in touch with the academic dynamism and areas of concern. The teachers and students also showed their solemnity towards the event by taking a pledge to abide by the aims of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’. The day concluded wherein a spirit of mindfulness and a new perspective regarding academics was inculcated amongst all.


Republic Day Celebrations

With great fervour and zeal, Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, celebrated the 74th Republic Day on January 26’ 2023, within the school premises along with the faculty members and students of classes IV-VIII. The celebrations commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony by our esteemed Chairman Sir, Mr. Sahibjeet Singh Sandhu and Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, followed by National Anthem and a musical performance by our students of classes VI-VIII, which instilled patriotic feelings in each heart. Later, our Chairman Sir addressed the students and voiced his lucid opinions on the significance of the day.


Lohri Celebrations

In order to commemorate the harvesting season and seek divine blessings, the students and staff of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, celebrated the festival of Lohri on January 13’ 2023. The students were greeted and told about the significance of the festival during the online session. An auspicious bonfire was lit in the school premises and everybody was filled with a sense of happiness and gaiety. The event was graced by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta and Vice- principal ma’am, Mrs. Parv Sandhu Makkar.


Annual Festival

Nurturing the inner talent of students in multiple ways is an essential component of letting the child learn, grow and develop. With this thought in mind and to commemorate the occasion of Christmas, Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, organised an ‘Annual Fiesta’ on December 23’ 2022 for the students of class Nursery. The toddlers presented an immense show of skills by their role- play. The ‘Story of the birth of Christ’ and ‘Life of Santa Claus’ were the main highlights of the day. The event was graced with the presence of the parents of our young ones, in front of whom, the children could not contain their excitement. The day culminated with an appreciation speech by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, who acknowledged the whole- hearted efforts of our tiny tots.


Christmas celebration

Christmas exuberates the spirit of giving love and happiness. It is one of those festivals which teaches us that the light of hope outshines the darkness of the world. In order to live up to this spirit and kick start the festive season, a ‘Christmas celebration’ was organised for the students of classes I-V by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on December 23’ 2022. The students not only presented some wonderful dance performances but also sang carols to show the joy in their hearts. With each and every performance, the zeal revolving around Christmas was heightened and newer hopes of peace and serenity were inculcated. The event ended with an appreciation speech by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, who not only acknowledged the efforts of the students but also conveyed her warm wishes for the upcoming New year.

Church Visit

In order to mark the occasion of Christmas and reconnect the students with their spiritual selves, a visit to the Church  was organised by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, on December 22’ 2022 for the students of classes V-VIII. The students were all excited for the visit. They listened attentively to the sermons being preached and also lit candles as a token of honour and respect. Their overall perspective regarding Christmas was positively changed as they delved deep into the finer nuances of Christ’s nativity. The church visit enabled them to understand the importance of righteousness and be more aware of their role in serving mankind.

Trip to Chandigarh Botanical Park

In order to inculcate critical thinking abilities of the students and augment their scientific knowledge, an educational field trip to ‘Chandigarh Botanical Park’ was conducted for the students of classes V-VIII on December 17’ 2022 by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh. The students were taken to the Herbal Garden where they came across a plethora of plant species, each known for a unique purpose. They were also taken to the energy park and museum where several scientific laws were explained with corresponding models. The trip proved to be very fruitful for everyone as it allowed students to develop scientific temper and broaden their thinking horizon.


Show and Tell competition

With a view to augment the verbal skills of students, a ‘Show and Tell’ competition was held for classes I-IV on November 19’ 2022 by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh. The students exhibited immense confidence during the competition and used several fancy props to supplement their performances. Every student performed to the best of their capabilities and presented their thoughts with utmost clarity. The winners were appreciated and felicitated with certificates of merit in a special assembly by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta.


Armed Forces Flag Day

In order to commemorate the ‘Armed Forces Flag Day’, an informative session highlighting the sacrifices and courage of the army personnel was conducted for the students on December 7’ 2022 by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh. The students were sensitised about the obstacles that our armed forces undergo to secure the borders of our nation. They were also told about the valiant heroes who laid their lives serving the nation. Special emphasis was given on the rehabilitation and resettlement of ex-servicemen during the session. The students as well as the faculty members proudly wore the flags depicting the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. The day ended with a sense of pride in each heart and determination to serve the country selflessly in each mind.


Market Explorer

EVS topics are made interesting through hands-on-activities in early childhood. With this aim, a vegetable and fruit market was set up as a reinforcement to the theme of the month ‘Market Explorer’ by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on November 26’ 2022. The children had a fun-filled experience of selling and buying vegetables and fruits from their peers. They were excited while using the weighing scale and pretending to be vegetable and fruit vendors and buyers. The enriching experience gave the students an opportunity to showcase not only their proficiency in marketing but also to enhance their social speaking skills.


Role Play competition

With a view to strengthen the speaking and demonstration skills of the students, a ‘Role Play’ competition on the theme ‘Your Dream Profession’ was organised by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on November 21’ 2022. The students were dressed up as doctors, teachers, army officers, farmers, cricketers etc. and expressed their ideas behind the choice of a particular profession. The competition not only gave them a platform to exhibit their competencies but also allowed them to eliminate stage fear and give words to their thoughts. The winners were appreciated by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, for their creativity and fluency.


Special Assembly

With an aim to sensitise the students about the significance of a clean environment, a ‘Special Assembly’ was organised for the students of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh. The assembly commenced with the school prayer followed by the thought of the day. An awareness speech on ‘Swacchta Jaagrukta’ was disseminated in order to enlighten the students about the increasing need to adopt environment friendly practices. The main focus was to mould the outlook of the students towards the environment and to allow them to inculcate eco-friendly habits to make the world a better place to live in.


Healthy Tiffin competition

“Health is wealth”
With a view to familiarise the students about the importance and necessity of a healthy diet, a ‘Healthy Tiffin’ competition was organised by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh. By way of this competition, the students not only emphasised upon incorporating a variety of healthy ingredients in their meals but also simultaneously learnt the benefits of adopting a healthy diet and lifestyle.

Rainbow/Tricolour Thali competition

“Climbing the healthy food ladder ”
Keeping in mind the notion of learning with fun, a ‘Rainbow/Tricolour Thali’ competition was organised by Paragon Convent School. The students expressed their creativity by bringing a plethora of colourful and healthy food items for the competition and also elaborated the nutritional value of each and every item. The teachers also took an initiative and supplemented the knowledge of students by stressing the importance of wholesome meals

Special Assembly

Assemblies are an important feature of a school’s routine. They also form a significant part of the school’s curriculum. With this perspective, a special assembly was conducted for the students of class Nursery by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on 29th September, 2022. The students were directed towards creating a positive, reflective ethos and inculcate value-based education. After the prayer, a special drill was also conducted that aimed at powerfully nurturing the physical and mental faculties of the students.

Dussehra Celebration

Dussehra, also known as ‘Vijayadashami’, is one of the biggest festivals celebrated in the country. This festival marks the celebration of victory of Lord Rama over the demon King Ravana. To commemorate this occasion, a Dussehra celebration was organised by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on 4th October, 2022. After the students of classes II-III staged a short play on ‘Ramayana’, the guest of honour, our chairman sir, Mr. Sahibjeet Singh Sandhu, along with principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta and vice- principal ma’am, Ms. Parv Sandhu Makkar, lit the effigy of Ravana. The burning of the effigy not only symbolised the victory of good over evil but also instilled the feeling of righteousness among the students.


Poster making competition

With an aim to sensitise the students about the significance of a clean and green environment, a ‘Poster making competition’ was organised for the students by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on 24th September, 2022. The students exhibited their talent and prepared creative posters on the theme ‘Banning the use of plastic’ and the ‘3 R’s- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’. The winners were appreciated for their innovation and awarded with certificates of merit by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta.


A Healthy tiffin competition

A Healthy tiffin competition was organised in Paragon Convent School on 24th September,2022 to inculcate healthy eating habits amongst student. The winners of class 2 were facilitated with certificates by our worthy Principal Mam in the special assembly.

Little Kindergarteners of Paragon Convent School playing outdoors and allowing the nature to be their teacher. Outdoor play helps them enhance their motor skills, communication, psycho-social skills, sensory integration and so much more!

Physical activity

Physical activity is vital for children’s health, well-being and overall development, especially during early childhood. With this aim, our little kindergarteners at Paragon Convent School practiced various exercises in order to strengthen their coordination, balance, posture and flexibility. These exercises were conducted to enable students to stay healthy and utilise their energy.


Healthy Tiffin competition

 A healthy mind resides in a healthy body and healthy food plays an important role in maintaining healthy body. Keeping this view in mind, a healthy tiffin competition with tricolor theme was organised on 24th September, 2022 for the students of class 3. The students brought home made healthy food in tricolor. They presented their platters with great zeal and enthusiasm. The winners were felicitated with certificates in the special assembly by honorable Principle ma’am.

Tricolor and Rainbow Thali competition

With an aim to enlighten the students about the significance of healthy eating habits, a ‘Tricolor and Rainbow Thali competition’ was organised for the students by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on 24th September, 2022. The students participated enthusiastically in the competition and prepared a plethora of nutritious food items. The winners were appreciated for their mindfulness and creativity in a Special Assembly and were awarded with certificates of merit by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta.


Diwali celebration

“Let us move from untruth to truth and from darkness to light”
To understand the true spirit behind the celebration of the festival of lights, the little munchkins of Kindergarten wing at Paragon Convent School participated in Diwali celebrations on 20th October, 2022, by watching and enjoying a special video session depicting the significance of the festival. Later, they also enjoyed a dance and singing performance. A plethora of take away making craft activities were conducted at each level with a moral impact of celebrating a green diwali. At the end of the day, the students were able to imbibe how good always conquers over evil and also the ways to celebrate a green and a safe diwali

Rangoli making competition

In order to propagate Indian customs, hone the aesthetic skills of students and to commemorate the occasion of ‘Diwali’, an inter-house ‘Rangoli making competition’ was organised for the students of classes VI-VIII by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on 20th October, 2022. The students prepared creative and colourful rangolis using eco-friendly materials such as grains, flowers and coloured sawdust. The beautiful hues and lively patterns presented via rangolis created an atmosphere of auspiciousness and gaiety. The winners of the competition were appreciated by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, for their successful amalgamation of art and culture.


Candle decoration competition

With a view to hone the artistic skills of students and to commemorate the occasion of ‘Diwali’, a ‘Candle decoration competition’ was organised for the students of class I by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on 20th October, 2022. The students exhibited immense creativity while decorating the candles using glitters, colours, beads, ribbons and so much more. The winners were praised and congratulated by our Director sir Mr.Sahibjeet Singh Sandhu, Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta and vice Principal ma’am Mrs Parv Sandhu Makkar for their exemplary ideas.


Diya making competition

In order to enhance the students’ creative expression and to commemorate the occasion of ‘Diwali’, a ‘ *Diya making competition* ’ was organised for the students of *classes II-III* by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on 20th October, 2022. The students displayed their talent by etching out beautiful designs on the Diyas while simultaneously giving them a touch of Indian ethnicity. The winners of the competition were duly acknowledged by our Director sir Mr. Sahibjeet Singh Sandhu, Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta and vice Principal ma’am Mrs. Parv Sandhu Makkar for their display of excellence.


Diwali celebration

Diwali, popularly known as the ‘Festival of lights’, is one of the biggest festivals celebrated with great pomp and show across the country. This festival symbolises the victory of inner light over spiritual darkness. To commemorate this occasion, a Diwali celebration was organised by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on 20th October, 2022. The students of classes VI- VIII not only showcased wonderful performances on various songs but also staged a role-play depicting Lord Rama’s return to Ayodhya after his exile. Our chairman sir, Mr. Sahibjeet Singh Sandhu, director ma’am, principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta and vice- principal ma’am, Ms. Parv Sandhu Makkar graced the event with their presence. Before the culmination of the the event, our Principal ma’am praised the students for their magnificence and motivated them to celebrate the festival in an eco-friendly way.


Thali decoration competition

With an aim to familiarise the students with Indian rituals and to commemorate the occasion of ‘Diwali’, a ‘ *Thali decoration competition’*and “Toran making competition “was organised for the students of *Class IV* and *class V* by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on 20th October, 2022. The competition provided students a platform to show not only their creativity but also their knowledge pertaining to Indian culture and tradition. The winners of the competition were appreciated by our Director Sir Mr. Sahibjeet Singh Sandhu,  Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, and
 Vice Principal ma’am Mrs Parv Sandhu Makkar for their innovative approach.

Goodie Foodie tiffin competition

A healthy mind resides in a healthy body and eating nutritious food plays an important role in maintaining one’s health. Keeping this view in mind, a ‘Goodie Foodie tiffin’ competition was organised on October 15’ 2022 by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh for the students of Kindergarten wing. The students brought several home-made healthy and nutritious food items and presented them in their tiffins with great zeal. They also enjoyed eating their healthy tiffin and shared the same with their friends. The winners were felicitated with certificates of merit in a special assembly by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta.


Yogasana Sports championship

Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, takes pride in acknowledging the victory and hard work of its students. The Punjab Yoga Association conducted the 47th Sub Junior and Junior National Yogasana Sports championship from 28th October, 2022 to 31st October, 2022 in which our students of class IV, Sayum Rana (Group 8: 10-12 years) and Advik (Group A: 8-10 years) represented Chandigarh at Ferozepur city. They received a ‘Souvenir certificate’ for their participation under the guidance of our yoga teacher, Ms. Anita. The students were duly congratulated and praised by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, for performing to the best of his abilities.


Punjabi Recitation Competition

With an aim to augment the linguistic skills of the students, a ‘Punjabi Recitation Competition’ was organised for the students of classes VI- VIII on November 5’ 2022 by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh. The students put forth their views vividly and were able to effectively grab the attention of the audience with their voice modulation and fluency. The competition not only brushed up the skills of the participants but also allowed to emphasise the importance of multi-lingualism in general. The winners were congratulated for their creative expressions and zeal by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta.

Story Telling Competition

Mark the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji

Field trips are not only meant for fun but they can also act as valuable learning experiences for young children. They help build background knowledge, confidence and vocabulary that are important for success in both school and life. With this aim and to mark the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the kindergarten students of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh visited a Gurudwara Sahib on November 7’ 2022. Apart from seeking blessings, the students also enjoyed singing and travelling in the bus and eating prasad. Overall, it was a day full of fun and frolic that also imbibed religious values amongst the students.


Trip to Chowki Dhani

In order to stir up students’ excitement and polish their social skills, a trip to ‘Chowki Dhani’ was organised by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on November 11’ 2022 for the students of classes I-III. Taking a break from the usual routine allowed the students to freshen their minds and be more in sync with their inner selves. The scenic beauty of the place with a touch of India’s rich culture and heritage mesmerised each and every student. The trip also fostered a sense of coordination and team work among the students as they learnt how to adjust in a different social setting.


Trip to Science city

Educational trips play a vital role in enhancing the critical thinking abilities of students on multiple levels. With this notion in mind, an educational trip to ‘Science city, Kapurthala’ was organised by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on November 11’ 2022. The students of classes IV-VIII not only enjoyed the trip to the fullest but also made keen observations throughout their visit. The life-like animal structures, experience in the simulated flight, laser theatre and the dinosaur park were some of the key attractions that provided ample learning opportunities for the students. The visit proved to be fruitful as each child gained a chance to broaden their horizon and acknowledge the scientific knowledge our world has to offer.

Jawaharlal Nehru, celebrate the spirit of childhood and to make this event memorable for our little ones, Paragon Convent  School, Sector 24, Chandigarh celebrated Children’s Day on November 14’ 2022 in the school premises. The prime focus of the day was on children and their enjoyment. The day commenced with a warm welcome for the students at the gate from a person impersonating the cartoon character named ‘Doraemon’. The joy and magnificence of the day filled every child with zeal. The tiny tots of Pre-primary wing came dressed up in casual clothes and brought their favourite lunch. The celebrations began with the Morning Prayer, followed by a variety of fun filled activities and games planned by the teachers for the students. The teachers made Children’s Day even more special by involving children in various games like Hit the pyramid, Toss the Ring , Feed the Frog, Tug of war, Rolling hoola hoops etc.
The students were overwhelmed and they all had a flashing smile on their faces.

National Library Week cum Children’s Day

Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, strives to nurture it’s students in both curricular and co-curricular aspects and proudly acknowledges the achievement of it’s students. The T.S. Central State Library in association with Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi organised several competitions to commemorate the National Library Week cum Children’s Day on November 16’ 2022. Under this event, our students, Aisha Negi (class V) and Vaishnavi (class VI) participated in the ‘Bookmark making’ competition while Akhil Thakur (class VII) and Bhuwan (class VIII) participated in the ‘Hasya Kavi Sammelan’ competition. Akhil Thakur, with his eloquent speech and expression, secured the third position and brought great laurels to the school with his accomplishment under the able guidance of our Punjabi teacher, Ms. Rupinder. The winner as well as the participants were duly recognised and appreciated by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, who also motivated them for attaining greater heights in future as well!
