Poster making competition
A Healthy tiffin competition was organised in Paragon Convent School on 24th September,2022 to inculcate healthy eating habits amongst student. The winners of class 2 were facilitated with certificates by our worthy Principal Mam in the special assembly.
Poster making competition
With an aim to sensitise the students about the significance of a clean and green environment, a ‘Poster making competition’ was organised for the students by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on 24th September, 2022. The students exhibited their talent and prepared creative posters on the theme ‘Banning the use of plastic’ and the ‘3 R’s- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’. The winners were appreciated for their innovation and awarded with certificates of merit by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta.
Dussehra Festival Celebration
Celebrating festivals is an integral part of learning at Paragon Convent School.
Keeping up with this tradition, the festival of Dussehra was celebrated by our Pre-primary students on 4th October, 2022. Dussehra is a major Indian festival which also marks the end of Navratri. It signifies the victory of Lord Rama over the demon Ravan, hence it symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. The children performed and enjoyed several activities related to Dussehra. Also, they enjoyed watching and listening to the drama depicting the story of Dussehra. The teachers also shared some valuable information about the festival thus enhancing student’s learning.
Special Assembly
Assemblies are an important feature of a school’s routine. They also form a significant part of the school’s curriculum. With this perspective, a special assembly was conducted for the students of class Nursery by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on 29th September, 2022. The students were directed towards creating a positive, reflective ethos and inculcate value-based education. After the prayer, a special drill was also conducted that aimed at powerfully nurturing the physical and mental faculties of the students.
Climbing the healthy food ladder
Keeping in mind the notion of learning with fun, a ‘Rainbow/Tricolour Thali’ competition was organised by Paragon Convent School. The students expressed their creativity by bringing a plethora of colourful and healthy food items for the competition and also elaborated the nutritional value of each and every item. The teachers also took an initiative and supplemented the knowledge of students by stressing the importance of wholesome meals.
Health Is Wealth
With a view to familiarise the students about the importance and necessity of a healthy diet, a ‘Healthy Tiffin’ competition was organised by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh. By way of this competition, the students not only emphasised upon incorporating a variety of healthy ingredients in their meals but also simultaneously learnt the benefits of adopting a healthy diet and lifestyle.
Swacchta Jaagrukta
With an aim to sensitise the students about the significance of a clean environment, a ‘Special Assembly’ was organised for the students of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh. The assembly commenced with the school prayer followed by the thought of the day. An awareness speech on ‘Swacchta Jaagrukta’ was disseminated in order to enlighten the students about the increasing need to adopt environment friendly practices. The main focus was to mould the outlook of the students towards the environment and to allow them to inculcate eco-friendly habits to make the world a better place to live in.
Nature Walk
Crisp air, the scent of fresh rain, the melodic echo of birds reverberating off tall, lush trees—is there anything more serene than our beautiful nature. With the spirit to appreciate and explore the environment around us, the tiny tots of Paragon Convent School has been taken for a nature walk.
Clay Modelling Activity
To nurture children’s creativity and give an impetus to their imagination, a clay modelling activity was organised by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on 7th September, 2022 for the kindergarten students. Students were able to enhance their cognitive and motor skills by way of pressing and reshaping the clay in various shapes and sizes during the activity. A sense of accomplishment and confidence was visible on every face after each child brought their imagination to life via clay models.
Teacher Day
To commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and celebrate the contribution of teachers, a “Teacher’s day” event was organised by the students of class VIII of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on 3rd September, 2022. The event commenced with a speech of gratitude by the Head girl to honour the efforts undertaken by the teachers throughout the year, followed by several activities such as poetry recitation, dance and a game of musical chairs. Before the culmination of the event, a cake cutting ceremony was held in the presence of the guest of honour, our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta. The event ended on a note of immense fun and bliss.
Yogasana Sports championship
Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, proudly acknowledges and nurtures the co-scholastic achievements of its students. The Chandigarh Yoga Association conducted the 38th Chandigarh State Yogasana Sports championship on 27th August, 2022 in which students of class IV of our school exhibited their brilliance and bagged several prizes under the guidance of Yoga teacher Ms. Anita. Advik secured the first position, Sayum Rana and Ruhani secured the second position while Anshika secured the third position in the competition. Their accomplishments tell the story of their indomitable courage and hard work. The students were congratulated by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta and she motivated them to keep on adding manifold feathers of success to their crown.
Session on Fire extinguishers- Types and Purpose
With an aim to sensitise the students about the measures to be adopted during a fire emergency, an interactive session on ‘Fire extinguishers- Types and Purpose’ was conducted in Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on 27th August, 2022. The session was attended by students of classes V-VIII as well as the faculty members. The session not only emphasised upon the methods of extinguishing fire but also informed the onlookers about the varied methods to put out fire in different cases. After the demonstration of the procedure, students were also given a chance to practice the same and learn to use the equipment in times of need.
Special Assembly
With an aim to inculcate disciplinary and social skills amongst students, a ‘Special Assembly’ was organised for the students of classes classes I- IV in Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on 26th August, 2022. The assembly commenced with the school prayer followed by the thought of the day and other related plethora of activities. Students of classes II-IV were also awarded with appreciation certificates by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, for their participation in the quiz. The assembly ended with a motivational speech by principal ma’am aimed to give guidance to the students.

To appreciate the efforts and hard work of students, Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh organised a special assembly on 26th August, 2022 for the winners of ‘Maths and Science Quiz’ of classes II to IV. All the winners were duly acknowledged and congratulated by our Principal Ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta.
Computer Quiz
It is rightly said that with hard work and effort, you can achieve anything. With a view to acknowledge our young learners of classes II- IV for their achievement in Computer Quiz, a special assembly was organised in Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on 26th August, 2022. The winners of the quiz were appreciated by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta for their achievement and were presented with appreciation certificates.
Computer Quiz
To gauge the fundamental concepts of computer in students, a ‘Computer’ quiz was organised by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on 20th August ,2022. The quiz was held for the students of classes II-IV. The students were divided into four teams, namely, Daffodil, Jasmine, Tulip and Zinnia. They were asked questions pertaining to the basic computer skills, it’s practical uses and relevance in everyday life. A supplementary rapid fire session was also held for the audience to make the session more engaging. After four rounds of intense competition, Jasmine house was declared as the winner. All the participants were acknowledged by our Principal ma’am, Mrs. Rajni Dutta, for their efforts and mindfulness while the winners were congratulated for their achievement.
Lord Krishna’s birthday celebration
To commemorate the auspicious occasion of Lord Krishna’s birthday, a celebration was organized in the Pre-primary section of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on 18th August, 2022. All the children came in traditional dresses. The boys came dressed as ‘Krishna’ while the girls came dressed as ‘Radha’. Beautiful decorations were put up to make this event even more cheerful. The children engaged in a plethora of activities in their respective classes and danced to the tunes of several traditional songs. The day was full of fun and frolic, where every child had a glimmer in their eyes throughout the event.
Happy Independence Day

With great fervour and zeal, Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh celebrated the 75th Independence Day within the school premises with the students of classes IV-VIII and fraternity members. The celebrations commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony by our esteemed Chairman Sir, Mr. Sahibjeet Singh Sandhu, Director ma’am, Ms. Sunderpreet Kaur Sandhu, Principal ma’am, Ms. Rajni Dutta, Vice Principal ma’am, Ms. Parv Sandhu Makkar, followed by a speech by our Chairman Sir. He addressed the gathering appealing to their nationalistic spirit and urged them to take pride in being an Indian and fulfil one’s duty with responsibilty towards the nation. The event was followed by a musical rendition of a Patriotic Song, a Role Play and a Patriotic Dance performance which awakened everyone’s feelings towards the motherland. The celebration ended with the distribution of ‘Appreciation Certificates’ for the plethora of activities that had been conducted in the school to mark the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. Indeed, it was a day of full of joy, love and respect for our country, fostering virtues of freedom, peace and unity in diversity.
Rakhi making competition
To instil the virtues of love and harmony and to bring out the hidden potential of students, a Rakhi making competition was organised by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on 10th August, 2022. The students of classes I-VIII participated in the competition whole-heartedly. They used a wide range of materials like woollen threads, sequins, beads and ribbons to prepare their rakhi’s and exhibited their creativity in manifold ways. Each and every rakhi was a symbol of their respect and affection that they share with their siblings. The celebration of this festival also offered an opportunity to the students to inculcate a sense of belongingness with each other.
Raksha Bandhan celebration
Raksha Bandhan is one of the most endearing ways to celebrate the bond between brothers and sisters. To strengthen this bond, the Kindergarten wing of Paragon Convent School celebrated Rakhi amongst the students wherein the toddlers tied rakhi’s and presented gifts to each other as token of love and belongingness.
The event was celebrated with full enthusiasm and zeal. Paragon believes that the celebration of such festivals with true spirit are integral to teach the students about Indian culture and traditions.
Demonstration on Human Skeleton System
In order to familiarize the children with the finer nuances of the concept at hand, the students of class VI of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, were given a demonstration on ‘Human Skeleton System’ on 8th August, 2022. Using a dummy skeleton system as teaching aid, the students were able to gain a deeper understanding of how a human body functions. The demonstration was helpful for students’ easy retention and recollection of information for future reference.
Chandigarh State Javelin Throw championship
Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, takes pride in acknowledging both the curricular and co-curricular achievements of children. The Chandigarh Athletic Association conducted the 1st Chandigarh State Javelin Throw championship on 7th August, 2022 in which Harseerat Kaur, a student of class II-B of our school, secured the third position and earned a bronze medal for herself, bringing laurels to the entire school with her accomplishment. Her achievement was duly recognised by our Principal ma’am and Harseerat was felicitated for the same. We wish her all the best for her future endeavours as well !
Jungle Safari
Students of Kindergarten at Paragon Convent displayed the attribute of being inquirer and reflective while doing their activity “Jungle Safari” in accord with their Monthly theme, wherein they learnt about various jungle animals and performed number of activities such as dancing and enacting as animals, making animal masks and animal paper craft. Overall, the day was full of energy and enthusiasm.
Teej Festival
The festival of ‘Teej’ is a yearly celebration that marks the advent of monsoon or sawan. It is primarily celebrated by young girls and women with great pomp and show. To commemorate the occasion, Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh organised ‘Teej’ celebrations on 30th July,2022. As a part of the celebration, several activities like singing, dancing and henna applying were organised where both teachers and students participated enthusiastically. The teachers came dressed in traditional yellow and green attires and the atmosphere was full of fun, frolic and gaiety.
Science and Maths Quiz
To measure the growth in knowledge, abilities and skills, a ‘Science and Maths’ quiz was organised by Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh on 30th July,2022. The quiz was held for the students of classes V-VIII. The students were divided into four teams, namely, Daffodil, Jasmine, Tulip and Zinnia. They were asked questions about general mathematical and scientific concepts, aiming to broaden their horizon and develop high order thinking skills. An additional round was also held to boost up the spirit of the audience. After four intense rounds, Daffodil house was declared as the winner. All the participants were praised by our Principal ma’am for their efforts while the winners were congratulated for their achievement.
Har Ghar Tiranga Quiz
With an aim to honour India’s magnificent history, Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, organised a quiz on the theme “Har Ghar Tiranga” as a part of Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The quiz was held for classes I-IV on 23rd July, 2022. The students were divided into four teams, namely, Daffodil, Jasmine, Tulip and Zinnia. They were asked questions pertaining to the Indian struggle for independence, national flag and symbols. The quiz comprised of four rounds, including a rapid fire session. The display of knowledge by the participants left everyone spell-bound. The audience too showed great fervour, making it an interactive session. After the completion of all rounds, Jasmine house was declared as the winner. The young achievers were congratulated by our Principal ma’am and their brilliance was duly acknowledged.

Poetry competition
Poetry is a literary work in which the expression of feelings and ideas is given an intensity with the use of distinctive style, rhythm , action and intonation.
Our young poets of class LKG and UKG enthusiastically participated in the English Rhyme recitation competition. The props were used beautifully by everyone, rendering lucid depiction to their thoughts. Our Principal ma’am congratulated and encouraged all the young achievers for their performances and blessed the best orator.
Recitation activities
Recitation activities aim to build confidence in students as they learn to speak more accurately and persuasively about any piece of writing. The main purpose behind conducting such competitions is to build self confidence, develop the oratory skills and enhance self expression of students. Our cute poets of class Nursery enjoyed the beauty of expression, thought, feeling, rhyme, rhythm and the music of words. The winners were applauded and praised for their proficiency by our respected Principal Ma’am.
Mock drills and evacuation drills
The effectiveness of coping with disasters depends on how prepared you are to deal with disasters. Mock drills and evacuation drills were conducted for the students of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, to create awareness and preparedness during calamities. The objective of mock drill was to review the emergency preparedness plan of the school and evaluate the quality of standard operating procedure, so that the students would deliver their duties effectively while keeping cognizance of life and property. The students were trained to be alert, quick, responsible, follow instructions, maintain calm and avoid panic to avert stampede and casualties. The main aim of the drill was to build courage and confidence amongst students and develop leadership skills. The staff members had positioned themselves at pre-decided vantage points to guide and assist the students as soon as the alarm went off. The students quickly moved out in proper lines. They were trained to reach the safe designated areas in case of any emergency. Headcount was done by the class teachers to ensure the presence of everyone.
The drills focused on activation of the full response system, incorporated decision making and life safety aspects and was followed by a review session. The mock drill was a huge success, right from its initiation up to execution and everything went on smoothly as desired.
Van Mahotsav or forest festival
Van Mahotsav or forest festival is an annual tree planting festival celebrated in the month of July in which thousands of trees are planted all over the country. To spread awareness about forest conservation and to save the environment, the students of Paragon Convent School, Sector 24, Chandigarh, came forward for the tree plantation drive. The students were taken to the garden area of the school where several medicinal plants were planted. The students showed great eagerness while planting the saplings. Also, the students were made to understand and appreciate the role of planting and tending of trees in preventing global warming, reducing pollution and promoting rainfall.
The curiosity to learn and the will to create a change were clearly visible in the efforts of the students. They also learned that Van Mahotsav is celebrated at the onset of monsoon season because the saplings planted during this time have a greater chance of survival. These activities helped to instill the value of social responsibility in the students.
Rainy Day is always a fun time for the kids
To celebrate these showers of Monsoon, the pre-primary students of Paragon Convent School came all armed in their raincoats & umbrellas to splash & revel in the rain. The students of Kindergarten were brought out in open by their teachers with umbrellas and rain coats to enjoy the playful rainy weather. It was fun singing rhymes. Also, students were made aware of the rainy season food, creatures and apparels etc.
The kids really had a festivity time with their friends and teachers. This Rainy Day celebration was full of fun & frolic.
Yoga is the gateway of happiness that body needs in daily life
Paragon Convent School celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and fervor. With the aim of ‘Yoga for Well-being’, a special yoga session was organized for our teachers and students.Their zeal to stay fit was well evident in the large number of participation.
The innumerable benefits of practicing Yoga were explained to all the participants. The boundless peace of doing the Asanas was amply visible right from the faces of the students and the mentors. Principal Ma’am Ms. Rajni Dutta addressed them with her wishes and emphasized the importance of yoga and motivated the students to make it an important part of their lives.
Certificate Distribution
Earth Day, a day to not only celebrate our love of the natural world but to acknowledge our duty to take care of and protect it. A great way to spread awareness about the day itself and to mark it’s importance, the slogan writing and poster making competition was held on 22.4.22 within the school premises. The winners of competition were acknowledged with appreciation certificates.
Mother’s Day Celebration Claa I & II
“Mothers love – a brilliant GEM to be treasured.”
Keeping this bonding emotion in mind, the Grade 1 and 2 students of Paragon Convent School had a special celebration on mother’s day where our school principal ma’am Ms. Rajni Dutta enlightened the students about the importance of mother in a their life and teachers made an earnest effort to instill the same through effective dance performance.
Mother’s Day Celebration Kindergarten
“Mother’s Day is the special time of the year when you get to celebrate your best friend and the person you always turn to when you need advice. Mother’s Day is also a great time to show your love for all the other wonderful women in your life.”
With this wonderful thought in mind, our little munchkins of kindergarten at Paragon Convent School expressed their love by dancing on action songs and preparing cards for their moms to mark their day as an unforgettable memory forever.
Labour Day Celebration
To honour workers for their contribution towards making our lives easier, at Paragon Convent School , the students celebrated the untiring services provided by the labourers on the Labour Day on Monday. The students took the initiative to make hand made cards and presented them as a token of gratitude.
As a mark of respect refreshments were also served by the children in a way to make their day special and thanking these helping hands around us.
Farewell
“It is hard to say goodbye to someone with whom you spend so many years”
Paragon Convent School had organised a farewell party for our worthy teachers who have served this school for many years. Chairman sir, Mr.Sahibjit Singh Sandhu and respectable Principal Ma’am Ms. Rajni Dutta appreciated the efforts and the services of the teachers. The retiring teachers were honored by the Director ma’am Ms.. Sunderpreet Kaur Sandhu and vice principal ma’am Ms. Parv Sandhu Makkar.
The party was followed by a celebration feast.
Diwali Celebration
Diwali, the festival of light is just a couple of days away. Paragon Convent School was also all geared up to celebrate to it with full energy and enthusiasm to mark it’s celebration PCS has organised various competitions and activities. The day begun with Sarasvati bandana to take the blessings of Maa Sarasvati which was followed by a hind play depicting the mythological story of Diwali presented by students if class 7th.students were also made aware about the importance of eco friendly Diwali. By an English play by class 8th students after this there were various competitions like, diya decoration, lamp colouring, rangoli making, etc. Which were thoroughly enjoyed by the students. At the end winners of various competitions were felicitated.
Dussehra Celebration
Keeping the festival spirit alive, Dusshera was celebrated virtually on October 14’2021 by the Kindergarten section with lot of religious zeal and fervour. A video related to Dussehra was shown to kids. Teachers explained the importance and significance of this festival to kids. Tiny tots enjoyed the ‘Coloring’ activity and ‘Eatable Ravana’ activity. The purpose to organise this celebration was to make the students aware of the often repeated message i. e “The victory of good over evil.”
Class 8 Farewell
Paragon Convent School Sector 24B Chandigarh, bid farewell to their class 8 students on 27th February 2020. The farewell party was organised by the students of class 7 with great fervour, music, dance performances and sentiments. The main attraction of the celebration was the fashion show of outgoing students. It was a refreshing and delightful experience for all and the students were given scores the basis of their walk, confidence, sensibility while giving the answers to the questions asked by the judges. Om prabha of class 8B and Aryan of class 8A were selected as Mr. Handsome and Ms. Charming respectively. The program came to an end with the motivational speech of our director Ms. Sunderpreet Kaur Sandhu and honourable principal Ms. Rajni Dutta who gave valuable tips for the future life.
