Certificate Distribution


Earth Day, a day to not only celebrate our love of the natural world but to acknowledge our duty to take care of and protect it. A great way to spread awareness about the day itself and to mark it’s importance, the slogan writing and poster making competition was held on 22.4.22 within the school premises. The winners of competition were acknowledged with appreciation certificates.


Mother’s Day Celebration Claa I & II


“Mothers love – a brilliant GEM to be treasured.”
Keeping this bonding emotion in mind, the Grade 1 and 2 students of Paragon Convent School had a special celebration on mother’s day where our school principal ma’am Ms. Rajni Dutta enlightened the students about the importance of mother in a their life and teachers made an earnest effort to instill the same through effective dance performance.


Mother’s Day Celebration Kindergarten


“Mother’s Day is the special time of the year when you get to celebrate your best friend and the person you always turn to when you need advice. Mother’s Day is also a great time to show your love for all the other wonderful women in your life.”
With this wonderful thought in mind, our little munchkins of kindergarten at Paragon Convent School expressed their love by dancing on action songs and preparing cards for their moms to mark their day as an unforgettable memory forever.


Labour Day Celebration


To honour workers for their contribution towards making our lives easier, at Paragon Convent School , the students celebrated the untiring services provided by the labourers on the Labour Day on Monday.  The students took the initiative to make hand made cards and presented them as a token of gratitude.

As a mark of respect refreshments were also served by the children in a way to make their day special and thanking these helping hands around us.


Farewell


“It is hard to say goodbye to someone with whom you spend so many years”
Paragon Convent School had organised a farewell party for our worthy teachers who have served this school for many years. Chairman sir, Mr.Sahibjit Singh Sandhu and respectable Principal Ma’am Ms. Rajni Dutta appreciated the efforts and the services of the teachers. The retiring teachers were honored by the Director ma’am Ms.. Sunderpreet Kaur Sandhu and vice principal ma’am Ms. Parv Sandhu Makkar.
The party was followed by a celebration feast.


Diwali Celebration


Diwali, the festival of light is just a couple of days away. Paragon Convent School was also all geared up to celebrate to it with full energy and enthusiasm to mark it’s celebration PCS has organised various competitions and activities. The day begun with Sarasvati bandana to take the blessings of Maa Sarasvati which was followed by a hind play depicting the mythological story of Diwali presented by students if class 7th.students were also made aware about the importance of eco friendly Diwali. By an English play by class 8th students after this there were various competitions like, diya decoration, lamp colouring, rangoli making, etc. Which were thoroughly enjoyed by the students. At the end winners of various competitions were felicitated.


Dussehra Celebration


Keeping the festival spirit alive, Dusshera was celebrated virtually on October 14’2021 by the Kindergarten section with lot of religious zeal and fervour. A video related to Dussehra was shown to kids. Teachers explained the importance and significance of this festival to kids. Tiny tots enjoyed the ‘Coloring’ activity and ‘Eatable Ravana’ activity. The purpose to organise this celebration was to make the students aware of the often repeated message i. e “The victory of good over evil.”


Class 8 Farewell

Paragon Convent School Sector 24B Chandigarh, bid farewell to their class 8 students on 27th February 2020. The farewell party was organised by the students of class 7 with great fervour, music, dance performances and sentiments. The main attraction of the celebration was the fashion show of outgoing students. It was a refreshing and delightful experience for all and the students were given scores the basis of their walk, confidence, sensibility while giving the answers to the questions asked by the judges. Om prabha of class 8B and Aryan of class 8A were selected as Mr. Handsome and Ms. Charming respectively. The program came to an end with the motivational speech of our director Ms. Sunderpreet Kaur Sandhu and honourable principal Ms. Rajni Dutta who gave valuable tips for the future life.


Language Skills Activity

To make the students more efficient in language skills, it is important to provide them proper exposure to enhance the same. So, teachers of knowledge club organised a thought provoking activity ‘Frequently misspelled words’ for classes 1 to 4 in which the students were provided with daily routine words. They had to circle the correct options. It was quite engaging and effective activity. The students from classes 5 to 8 made a very creative chart of active passive voice. The relevant teachers taught them the different rules of voices in a very effective way . So, eventually they created it on coloured A3 sheets. It enhanced their writing skills.


Interactive Session to suggest ways to reduce Examination Stress

Success in exams is determined by many intrinsic factors, motivation and hard work bearing primary importance. In addition to the primary factors, what is required is a realistic approach to achieve success in one’s goal. To motivate students for examination, Paragon Convent School Sector 24B Chandigarh conducted an interactive session to suggest ways to reduce examination stress. Principal Ms. Rajni Dutta advised the children on how to overcome the fear of examination and excel in the studies. Students put queries regarding examination which were answered by principal mam. Students were suggested to follow three tier revision method and plan out a well structured strategy that caters to the requirement of examination.


Kids Outing

Excursions are must for the students. Excursions not only enhance the knowledge of the students but also make them aware about the outer world. Keeping that in mind Paragon Convent School Sector 24B Chandigarh organised an outing to the lake for the tiny tots of class Nur to UKG. Lake is famous for its beauty and serenity. Children were quite thrilled with the beauty and surroundings of the lake. The tiny tots indulged in various fun activities like race, dance etc. They enjoy their party tiffin. All in all it was a fun filled day out for the kids.


Story Telling Competition

To enhance the public speaking skills Paragon Convent School Sector 24B Chandigarh organised a story telling Competition for Kindergarten section. Every student narrated a different story with actions, expressions and beautiful props. They participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. In the end Principal Rajni Dutta appreciated the students for their great efforts and motivated them.


Special Assembly

World Thinking Day was celebrated at Paragon Convent School Sector 24B Chandigarh on 22nd Feb2020. A special assembly was conducted in the morning. It was an opportunity to speak out on the issues that affect young women. A play ‘BetiBachaoBetiPadhao’ was also organised to instill moral values among students. Slogan writing and poster making activities were conducted to discuss the role of scouts and guides and to overcome the social evils prevailing in our society.


Environment Club Activity

To enhance the Creative and logical skills of students, members of Health and Environment Club organised an activity on ‘Formula Freezbee’. The relevant teachers taught them various models of circle, Freezbee’ formula for different polygons and multiplication cylinder. The students with lot of zeal and enthusiasm participated in this activity and were able to acquire logical skills through this activity.

Yoga Day

To make yoga more interesting for students this week yoga instructor combined yoga with aerobics as it sharpens their ability to focus and stray on task , it helps to reduce mental , physical and vascular stress. Students participated with zeal and enthusiasm. The session was started with warm up exercises followed by some aerobics steps and yoga poses like tad asana, forward bend, backward and side bending. The session was ended with shavasana.

Keeping the impact of creative and practical learning in mind, knowledge club of Paragon Convent School sector 24B Chandigarh organised interesting activities for the students of classes 1 to 4. The activity was named “ spotting the doing words”. They were given list of words and they had to find out doing words. After that they wrote the doing words and pasted on straws. Students of classes 5 to 8 made chart of tenses in colourful sheets and wrote their rules too. Both the activities were full of fun and knowledgeable as well.

Students of class 1 to 4 made bookmarks of different shapes like watermelon, unicorn etc. And students of classes 5 to 8 made photo frames. They brought their family pictures from home and then pasted it on the frame. The concerned teachers focused on the aesthetic sense of the students.

Then students made different fractional flowers and showed different fractions like 1, ½, 1/3, ¼ etc. With the help of paper plates and poster colours. Students were thrilled to perform this activity.

Knowledge club of Paragon Convent School Sector 24B Chandigarh brought back old memories through letters writing activity. Students of classes 1 to 4 wrote letters to their friends. They learned how to write address and how to paste stamps also. Afterwards, they put the letters in the letter box. This activity was held to make students aware about means if communication. Videos related to mock parliament were screened to class 5 to 8. Videos created awareness among the Students about the functioning of parliament.


Basant Panchami Celebrations

The auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami is celebrated in the month of Magh every year. It is a festival marks the preparation for arrival of spring. The tiny tots of Paragon Convent School Sector 24B Chd. Celebrated Basant Panchami with great joy and enthusiasm. As the colour of Basant is yellow, they came in yellow attire, enjoyed the view of blooming mustard field. They also brought yellow delicious food.

Students were introduced about various 2D shapes by the teachers. They brought colourful sheets and made different images like butterfly, dog, cat, truck etc. Students were very enthusiastic to perform the activity and they thoroughly enjoyed it.


Republic Day Celebrations

On the auspicious morning of 26th January, Paragon Convent School, sector 24B Chandigarh celebrated Republic Day in their school premises. The students were brimming with the nationalistic feelings as they sang songs in the praise of their motherland. This day has a special appeal as it gives way to share the message of equality and brotherhood among the young generation. The chairman Mr. Sahibjit Singh Sandhu hoisted the national flag and shared the message of patriotism and loyalty towards one’s nation and to work hard for the betterment of our country.

Saluting the nation and it’s constitution on 71st Republic Day, Paragon Convent School sector 24B Chandigarh celebrated Republic Day with great joy and fervour. The theme of this Republic Day was Unity in Diversity. Students of kindergarten wing dressed up as the citizens of various states and gave knowledge of culture. All performance created an ambience of unity and brotherhood. At the end Principal Rajni Dutta Congratulated and motivated the students and encouraged them to respect the nation.

To sensitize the importance of girl child, Paragon Convent School Sector 24B Chandigarh organised a rally on BetiBachao, BetiPadhao. The students of classes 4 to 8 participated in the rally. It was convened to address the gender imbalance and discrimination against girl child in the Indian Society. Students raised the catchy slogans to make the rally influential.

Knowledge club of Paragon Convent School sector 24B, organised various interesting and fruitful activities to enhance the knowledge and creative domain of the students. In classes 1 to 4, an activity related to describing words was done. Students were given naming words and they gave their suitable describing words to them. They performed the activity on ice-cream sticks and colourful sheets which made the activity more interesting. Students of classes 5 to 8 participated in ‘ Paragraph Writing’ Competition. It was a very healthy competition. It emphasized on their writing skill.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with students, teachers and parents from all across the country on 20th January 2020 via Doordarshan network. In this interactive session, ways to reduce examination stress was discussed. PM Modi advised children on how to overcome the fear of examination and excel in their studies. The program was also telecasted at Paragon Convent School, sector 24B Chandigarh. Around 163 students along with 20 teachers witnessed the interaction, which had a very positive effect on the students psychology.

In this activity, students made very impressive pom-poms with the help of wool, pencils and googlie eyes. It was really a fun filled and activity. Ethnicity, diversity and unique heritage of Indian culture is vividly evident in our festivals. Paragon Convent School Sector 24B Chd. Today celebrated one of the most auspicious festivals, Christmas with great enthusiasm and zeal. To create sense of secularism among students, the school arranged a visit to Church. To make the celebrations more delightful students performed on carols like ‘O come all ye faithful,’ jingle bell rock’ and ‘Its Christmas’ etc. The mesmerising performance of the students was memorable and praise worthy. The Principal Ms. Rajni Dutta appraised the performance of the students. She congratulated teachers for their valuable contribution and guidance.

Yoga Club Activity

This week yoga instructor decided to conduct asanas for students’ better health. Instructor made the students to do the following yoga activities:-
Yogasanas , pranayama (anuloma-viloma , kapalbhati , bhastrika) , yoga exercises for eyes and trataka meditation .
Students of classes 1-8 actively participated with enthusiasm .Teachers started the session with warming up and stretching followed by pawanmukta series -1 that proved to be most beneficial for the beginners. After asanas students were taught yoga exercises to keep their eyesight good and the pranayama for longevity. The session was ended with Trataka meditation and ”OM” chanting.


Art club activity

India is a multicultural counter and it becomes responsibility of the teachers to make pupil aware about the diversity of the nation. This time teachers of Art club decided to celebrate Christmas by making Christmas wreath. Students were told to bring shaped cardboard, green colored kite sheet and some decorative material like bells, ribbons stars. Then students pasted the colored sheets cutting on the cardboard sheets cutting on the cardboard, decorated it beautifully, and classes 1 to 4 made Christmas tree with origami sheets and straws. The students have brought decorative materials to adorn it.


Health and Environment club activity

Learning is considered best if there is the involvement of more than one sense organ . During this week in health and environment club, students made different body organs using different colours, sand and glue. Students made the drawing of different organs like kidneys, lungs, heart, eye etc. Students did this activity enthusiastically and this they applied their artistic skills to enhance their knowledge of science.


Fruit and Vegetable Market Activity

Our body needs fruits and vegetables for good health. They provide essential nutrients, vitamins and minerals to our body. To tell the importance of these fruits and vegetables and a also to make them understand about marketing, Paragon Convent School Sector 24B Chandigarh set up a fruit and vegetable market for its students in the school premises. Fruits and vegetables were arranged in the same way as they see them in the market. Students were told and shown how the to buy fruits and vegetables from the market. They were shown the weighing machine also. It was a knowledgeable activity which the children enjoyed and they had a great experience of marketing as well.

Show and Tell is an important part of child’s learning development. To help the children to strengthen their public speaking skills and confidence. PCS organised a show & tell competition for kindergarten. Children were given different topics eg., Fruits, veggies, animals etc. Kids spoke about their favourite topic very enthusiastically. It is a chance for children to think out of the box. It also helps to build their communication skills.

Cooking Without Fire Activity

As we know that Healthy mind lives in a healthy body and good nutrition plays a very important role in maintaining healthy body. To inculcate healthy eating habits among students health and environment club organised a cooking without fire activity in the school on 23rd Nov 2019. In this activity students of class 1 to 4 made sandwich by using chopped vegetables, milk cream and bread slices, whereas students of class 5 to 8 made coconut sweet of mixing grated coconut in the condensed milk cream. Students with the help of teachers kneaded the mixture and made ladoos of it. Students thoroughly enjoyed the activity and participated enthusiastically.

SST Quiz Winners

Competitions are a great way of showcasing the talent and aptitude of students. Paragon Convent School Sector 24B Chandigarh Organised a S.ST quiz on 23rdNovember 2019. It was an eye opening and very informative event for the students. This inter house quiz had 4 rounds which were filled with lot of excitement and knowledge. There was neck to neck competition and finally Daffodil emerged as the winner followed by JasmineHouse on 2nd position ans Zinnia House on 3rd position. Principal Rajni Dutta praised the performance of participants and encouraged the students to keep striving for greater heights.

Show And Tell Competition

It was a day filled with literary treat at Paragon Convent School, Sector 24B Chandigarh on 23rd November 2019 as a show and tell competition was organised for classes 1 to 4 to boost the confidence of the students. The students were dressed according to their theme and also brought props. They were assessed on their presentation skills, fluency and expressions. Principal Rajni Dutta announced the names of the winners and boost the morale of all the participants with her encouraging words.

Games like puzzles, Rainbow beads, Tongue twister, I know my friend better, matching beads etc were played by students. Winners of the games were honored by the worthy Principal Ms. Rajni Dutta . An animated Movie “Delhi safari was showcased to the students. At the end of the day sweets were distributed among students.”

Children’s Day Celebrations

November 14th is Celebrated as Children’s Day as a tribute to Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. The importance the day is to create awareness among masses the children are real heroes of the future. Do, this day was celebrated at Paragon Convent School Sector 24B Chandigarh with great enthusiasm and gaiety. Students of kindergarten section were welcomed by cartoon Character Doreamon. Kids played games and were made to watch a movie (Delhi Safari). Their teachers gave lovely dance performance for the toddlers. Kids relished chocolates. The day commemorated with immense fun and joy.

Electronic Model Making

To inculcate the scientific aptitude among students, Health and Environment Club organised an electronic model making activity in the school on 16th November 2019, in which students learnt to make simple circuits by using battery wire bulb, small fan, resisters etc. Students of class 8 also also tried to make different models like electric alarm that can sense the object coming in its range and an electric toy car which will use battery to work. Students were very enthusiastic to perform the activity and they thoroughly enjoyed it.

Gurpurav Celebrations

As the pious accasion of Gurupurab approaches, Paragon Convent School organized a visit to the Gurudawara for its kindergarten students. Upon reaching there the students bowed their heads in reverence infront of the Guru Granth Sahib; which they were taught is the secular holy book worshipped by Sikhs. To mark the Parkash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev ji they sang hymns and learnt about his preachings. The atmosphere was devotional and blissful manifesting God’s omnipresence. The kids enjoyed their visit a lot.

Harmful effects of plastic

To generate awareness among students regarding the harmful effects of plastic. Health and environment club of Paragon Convent School Sector 24 B organised a plastic free drive in which students were informed about the I’ll effects of plastic in our lives. Students made cloth bags by using old clothes, decorative material and colours. Students were encouraged to reduce the use of plastic and find different alternatives for it.

Paragon Convent School Sector 24B Chandigarh today celebrated one of the most auspicious festivals of India, Diwali with great enthusiasm and lovely sentiments. Various inter-house competition were organised namely: RangoliMaking, Diya and Thali decoration to infuse creative delight into the celebration. A special enactment, depicting the arrival of Lord Rama with Sita and Laxman to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. The mesmerizing performance of the students was memorableand praise worthy. In the end the chairperson Mr. Sahibjit Singh Sandhu and principal Ms Rajni Dutta appraised the sincere efforts of the students and teachers to make the celebrations truly delightful. They also urged the students to celebrate eco friendly and cracker free Diwali.

Creativity is the imagination having fun. Keeping the impact of creative and practical learning in mind, Paragon Convent School Sector 24B Chandigarh has declared Saturdays as Activity Day. Various club activities were organised to instill joyful learning experience among students. The art and craft club indulged the students in creative craft making for Diwali eg., Wall hanging, cards, paper art, to bring more festivity and fervour. The knowledge club created awareness among students tips and mock drills were done in the classroom settings. The yoga and dance club induced excitement among students by teaching new yoga postures as well as dance moves to make them physically fit. The science and environmental club organised. Cracker-free Diwali rally to create awareness about pollution free Diwali this year. The students made eye-catching banners and spoke slogans as they conveyed the message of green Diwali. All in all the day was marked by enthusiastic participation and positive learning experiences for the students during this festive season.

Students were judged on the basis of their confidential, props used, actions and overall speaking skills. The competition was judged by Principal MS. Rajni Dutta. Dusshera Festival Celebrations

“Goodness of spirit is ever-pervading and ever-powerful, it can never be diminished by the darkness of evil”. Paragon Convent School, Sector 24B Chandigarh celebrated Dusshera festival and spread the message of ‘victory of good over evil’. The festivity started with a very fascinating play by kindergarten showcasing the life of Lord Rama and his fight with demon king Ravana. The beautiful portrayal of the story was truly impactful and worth remembering. The celebration culminated with the burning of the effigy of Ravana whose heads symbolizes the evils of greed, malice, jealousy etc. the ceremony symbolised the importance of burning negative thoughts and emotions so that goodness can prevail. The Chairperson Mr. Sahibjit Singh Sandhu and the principal Rajni Dutta appraised the performances of the students and the creative efforts of teachers to make the function successful

Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations

Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated in Paragon Convent School on 4thOct 2019, with patriotic fervour and zeal. Animated videos were shown to little kids to highlight the values and ethics of Mahatma Gandhi. Teachers showed the pictures of Gandhiji, his spectacles, his walking stick and charkha to the kids. As directed PM Modi, Fit India Movement has been made compulsory for all schools. As per this movement, Paragon Convent School Sector 24 B Chandigarh has added yoga class as part of its timetable. Various asanas like Tad Asana, Kati Chakra Asana, ArdhChakar Asana, Sinhagarjana Asana etc.done by students today. Students did it for 20 mins with great zeal and enthusiasm. Celebrating independence day for classes and KG to II

Patriotic songs and dances were performed by the students of kindergarten to Class II. All the students dressed up as freedom fighters. Some of them were dressed as Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, Chacha Nehru to remember and pay homage to those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the nation. All these performances created an ambience of patriotic fervour. Teachers then emphasized on the importance of brushing before going to bed. After that the children were told to lie down and bedtime stories like 3 bears were narrated. Students were not only motivated to seek donation but also encouraged to spread the awareness about cancer. They were made aware about the various causes, symptoms and prognosis of the disease. The children came dressed in green colour clothes and brought green food in their tiffin. The aim was to sensitize the students about the importance of saving the environment. It is an automated online examination system, where post submission answers are automatically evaluated and graded. The students participated actively and won prizes. The tiny tots of Kindergarten put up a wonderful show and enthralled the audience with their magnetic performances. In a colourful display of four seasons, the tiny darlings danced, played and acted on stage beautifully dressed up as per summer, winter, rainy and spring seasons with their props. Students of L.KG captured the audiences with dynamic display of theatrics based on jungle theme. U.KG A wards dramatized the role of community helpers like teachers, doctors, policeman etc. U.KG B showcased the importance of healthy food and adverse effects of junk food on our health.


Annual Function Class 1 to 4

Paragon Convent School sec 24B Chandigarh held their annual function on 24th January illuminating a festive spirit amongst students. Classes I-IV performed theatrical and musical plays based on different novels. Children of class I captured hearts by enacting out the story of Charlie and the chocolate factory. Class II gave an enthralling performance based on Stuart little. Wards of class III displayed their dramatic skills while showcasing the story of wonder with great zeal and enthusiasm. School Director, Mrs. Sunderpreet Sandhu graced the function with her presence. School principal Mrs. Rajni Dutta concluded the function with the annual report and extended a vote of thanks to all parents.
